    BINGO.

Keeping the Passport's shape but eliminating the keyboard would result in (roughly) a 3:4 portrait screen ratio (or 4:3 landscape). We've already got 16:9 and 1:1. Adding a third one for a single high-end model just makes a headache for developers.
So all the talk of BB10/QNX will eliminate the developer side of aspect ratio by handling it internally was all BS?

If it is to be a all touch then it will not be a PassPort.

I agree... if the passport had no keyboard, & if it did not offer android runtime (albeit rudimentary) I would never have considered a BlackBerry device...

Soooo, would you prefer a "traditional" 16:9 all-touch with the same specs as the Passport? Or is the actual shape important too?
Wouldn't that be the Leap? That fone had low end specs & is, for myself, of no interest. The slider pics around look huge... it will be even more top-heavy than the passport which is already a finger killer.

... a slider of the actual passport might interest me & would allow for a 4th row & vertical arrangement with offset like a real keyboard to which I have alluded in another thread leading to faster typing iMHO...

I don`t know what to say to your idea of a full touch passport. first time i saw the passport it also looked really ridicoulus to me. now i love it. maybe a full touch passport could work. but what kind of format would it be? 5:4?

I feel the physical keyboard with configurable language option (OLED keys) would make the BB PP even more hot!
It would look like a small awkward tablet.

The Leap is low end. The Passport is a flagship and has unusually good specs for a BlackBerry.

No, they didn't eliminate management of the aspect ratio in BB10. They eliminated the need to manage RESOLUTION. i.e., the same app can be coded for a given aspect ratio and it should now scale properly regardless of dpi. Previously, the developer had to manage that.

BlackBerry would do well to comprehend the passport users will jump ship if only low end devices emerge for the end of life upgrade path...

Would be an awesome device. But should make the device slimmer and light , like the Xiomi/iphones

I bought the Passport because of the screen and the physical keyboard. You want an all touch device with a wide screen and stylus, then get the Note 4 and call it a day.

Blackberry should never go all touch for all their devices. That market is already won by android/ios and it would just mean the death of Blackberry.

Adaptable OS would be nice. You get the phone with the form factor you like and then you get the OS that you want. I'm pretty sure BB10 would be quite popular. Everyone I've shown it too like it better than android or ios.

It would be an option, yeah. But I'd prefer with keyboard.
