I got a BlackBerry Passport a couple days ago and I always seem to have a weak signal. In my home my Z10 would get me five out of five bars but the Passport gives me only three. In other places where I would have one to two bars on the Z10 now will be no bars on the Passport.

I am on the Fido network and using the latest software 10.3.0.908

Ya I think it's software related, as in the new survey they are asking about signal drop.

I really hope you are right because I would hate if I had a defective device after waiting two weeks for one.

What setting do you have it on.
Try putting of the new leaks on, 1418 was pretty good for me.
And 10.3.1 I am trying again right now.

What do you mean by that?

Would I have to load a full leak or could I just load a bar file?

You have the latest official so you should be good. Try turning airplane mode on then back off see if it helps

OS 1418 comes with software 908. Sounds like your already have the latest 'leak' (not of 3.1. of course).

You could try a couple of hard resets also.

I noticed weaker signal at home as well, but i never get any dropped coverage. I'm fine with 2 bars, as long as i don't lose the signal.

I'm sure it's software related, i was thinking a energy saving feature or something but idk.

I've noticed that the bar strength is less bars but no drops. Isn't that what matters, most? I'd be more unhappy if I had 5 bars and it kept dropping.

Low signal does't mean much. The reality is you could be having the best signal quality and the phone bars show 1 or less. You could have a poor connection and the bar shows 3 or 4. As long as you're not dropping calls or distorted sounds, you should just ignore what the software is telling you.

Well the problem is I have no signal in areas my Z10 would get at least two bars. So yes it is a huge problem for me.

I am afraid your phone coul be defective. I have compared my Passport signal reception with that of my Z10 and Z30, and the Passport has the best sensitivity. Software version is the original: 10.3.0.675.

I am getting the same problem with signal loss at home. A proper PITA. When outdoors this isn't a problem.

Yes I think it's OS related as they were asking questions on the last survey about reception.
