I formatted a 128 gb SanDisk SD and a cheap 128 gb SD in the Passport and had terrible problems with data loss, device running hot, battery drain, and device failing to recognize the media card. Spoke with BlackBerry and removed this memory.

Now all perfect. Use no greater than 64 gb!
Warning from someone who should have known better, lol.

I bought a cheap 128gb sd card, and it didn't perform well. It wasn't fast enough to record in 1080p. I bought a more expensive one, with the recommended speed, and it works just fine. No issues with it at all.

Make sure it's genuine, call up SanDisk to ask them how you can tell it's authentic. 99% of the cards sold on the internet are fake with SanDisk name and logo on them. Safe bet is to buy it from a reputable retail store.

Using a SanDisk Ultra 128 GB card here (30MB/s read speed.). I did have a couple of issues about a week into having the passport (phone not recognizing the card) but that cleared up after shutting down, popping the card out, and popping it back in.

Being able to expand to a 128 GB card was one of the deciding factors in buying this phone.

To be more specific my card was a SanDisk Ultra micro SDXC1. I inserted into my phone and formatted it there and it did download exFAT drivers. Bad card? Worked for about a week

A reliable memory card is really worth the extra cost, if a person's budget permit's the expense. My SanDisk 128GB has been interchanged between my 4 BlackBerrys & 2 Androids and works fine.

This card: SanDisk ULTRA MicroSD XC CARD 64GB W/ADAPTOR CLASS 10 | BlackBerry Memory Cards will work in the Passport, right? Any special formatting requirements? I'm thinking of trying another PP at a future date.

Bought a new Lexar High-Performance microSDXC 633x 128GB UHS-I Flash Memory Card from Amazon for my Passport. I have two 64 GB cards from my Z30 and Z10 that work fine in my Passport (both Class 10), but there was an OS update for my phone as soon as I got it setup on Telus. I don't expect any issues with the new Lexar card.

Rockin a Passport and Z30! Two devices are better than 1!
