Busted my nephew watching porn videos after letting him play 5 nights at freddy's. There were four browser windows with different sites open. Fortunately I guess, they were incognito. Now I'm paranoid I have a virus or something. I've noticed when typing, occasionally there seems to be a black box that pops up and disappears very quickly. Almost unnoticeable. I'm sure I would have noticed that before if it was happening.
Anyone have suggestions on how to check without a full reset? I know I could get virus scan, but I've seen that not work on a Windows PC once. Apparently, that virus wasn't in any database.
I may do a reset, but would rather not have to.

This on a Passport, BlackBerry 10.

    Thanks

There are no viruses on BlackBerry 10. The only thing you're likely seeing are crappy ads and pop-ups that are intrusive. Some of which are likely telling your device is infected with a virus but are pure BS. Clear your cache, cookies, try a broswer that supports ad blocking.

Don't worry I've visited most of the shady porn sites in existence on my passport and been having no problems with malware that doesn't even exist ""

Max Secure Anti-Virus works for me, it's a pay-app through BB World but a bit pricey @ $3.99 (CDN). Not sure if it's possible to pick up viruses or malware on BB10 but a legit scan won't do any harm. Will run automatically and headless although you can run a manual scan if you choose.

What needs to be explained. There are no openly targetted viruses specific to BlackBerry 10. Pretty simple.

You mean people actually wasted time developing a virus specifically for BB10. Oxymoron? Dumb smartperson?

Not that someone went out of there way just to make one to attack BB10. But there are some out there that effect BB10. And the only way to clear them out is with OS reload.

Sounds like you're confusing software glitches with a Virus. Just because the OS starts acting up doesn't mean you have malware.

The black box your seeing I get when I open a page where the Browser has saved my login information and is automatically signing me in. I see this when opening the Telus My Account website that I have saved to my home page.

I f you want to feel better about it you should just clear browsing history then Cookies and data.

If someone wrote a virus for BB10, could this be a sign of a resurgence?

Well, since we have no actual evidence that anyone did, the question is moot.

    No confusion what so ever.
And only if it was a software glitch. That would have been great. Easier to fix a software glitch.
