Do you guys think it's ok to use the passport when it lightly drizzles outside. Can it withstand a little bit of water on the screen and keyboard?

Well, I wouldn't suggest letting it get soaked, but a few sprinkles are certainly not going to hurt it

As I mentioned in other thread, 'electronic' and 'dust' are not good combination - same with 'electronic' and 'water'... again, unless your device is designed for that environment...

    Need extra care...

The problem is, one drop of water at the right position and the device might die. Water on the screen shouldn't be an issue.

Using my CD player in the rain made it stop working. But that was a looooooooong time ago. For me that was a lesson well learned.

Thanks for all your input guys. I always wondered if a few drops of rain on the keyboard could break the device. Our phone are bound to come in contact with rain a certain point. I would think they should be able to take it.

Yes, it can take a few droplets as long as you wipe it dry pretty quick. I have not done extensive tests on this subject. The impression above was obtained through personal experience with my Passport... but I could be just simply lucky.

Yeah I've used it even in heavy rain (with screen protector and case) and without any issues except trying to tap on the touchscreen lol

Unless the mobile device you are using states that it is design to resist water damage, I avoid using ANY electronic device in the rain! You just can't chance water damage and will avoid all warranties.

Remember that your phone has moisture detection indicators at the openings, such as the headphone jack, that will void your warranty if the color turns. Countless people have taken their smartphones in for warranty service only to be told that their device indicates water damage.

I never let my devices get exposed to rain no matter how light it is. It's also easy to drop it in a puddle.
