    Forum members,

Can someone please help? My trusty Passport which I use for everything is now down and at the worst possible time.

The issue I am having is when the phone locks and I try and unlock it, the screen comes on but shows a finely multicoloured pixilated screen!!! There is also no response when swiping up.

This just happened today. IF I call the phone and swipe to reject a call (by memory as the screen remains pixilated), sometime the screen comes back to normal operation. IF the phone locks again, then same issue.

Rebooting with the volume button does not resolve the issue.

Anyone know what the problem is? Just started today out of the blue.

My BlackBerry Bold 9900 screen turned multi coloured and pixelated many years ago. I took it to my carrier, the screen was damaged. Luckily it was in my one year warranty time frame. Screens do get damaged no matter how careful you are with your phones. With my bold, I never dropped it once and the screen turned purple. Good luck, hope you're still under warranty.

Sounds like the screen has failed. They appear to be readily available on-line. Hope your Passport is still under warranty.

UGH....no more warranty. Ended three months ago.

Is the screen something I can repair myself??!

IF not, perhaps its time to get the new PRIV

But here is the strange part... there are times when the screen will come to life like there is no issue. This happens far and few inbetween now.

SO this is not likely due to the result of running android apps on the PP right?

you need a set of phone tools and some skill. Google Passport screen replace. It looks very easy at least for me.
