I want to know, as an ATT customer, if I will receive my update to 10.3.1 from BB directly & NOT from ATT which will be replete with bloatware & crippleware which is why I paid the higher price (I assume they will subsidize the BB PP)... does anyone know?

Whoever the carrier is you have service with should shoot your update, I'm assuming your with AT&T so when the release is good you shall receive.

BTW, BlackBerry doesn't send updates directly...but wouldn't that be great?! (being uberly sarcastic)

If BlackBerry doesn't send any updates directly, then how come when I got my passport from shop BlackBerry, when I connected to wifi, before I even put an AT&T sim in the phone, I searched for OS updates and it found and installed the current 10.3 OS version?

My Amazon Passport did a huge update right after At&t activation too. I thought that was kind of strange.

Same here & if we don't want the att bloatware should we disable automatic updates, wait for it to be out, take out the sim (would disabling network do?) & update via wifi from BlackBerry ??
