Ok when you type to search, it brings up BlackBerry assistant and then I finish typing the word, then tap on the browser to search.

But what if you have to search a number? Say you were searching the number 2015? You have to start typing to bring up assistant, then erase your letters you just typed, then type 2015 to search.

This is one tradeoff with no numbers on the passport keyboard.

Universal search was much better on my q10, running 10.2.1. To remedy the annoying way you have to erase your search every time or close assistant entirely, I just use an icon for BlackBerry assistant on the home screen.

If you're trying to call a number then just start typing: "call 2...."

Worse than that you first have to erase the numbers you entered last time, because they always stay in the way.

Not calling a number. Universal search for a number.

You can always hold the middle media key to bring it up...but honestly it's easier to just do type any key and backspace once...if going that route
