UK is Blackberry's biggest market in Europe, it currently has around 3.4% market share which is above the global market share. There are around 2.75million Blackberry users in the UK.

I know and that makes it harder to believe as I don't see many people with bb's anymore. It's all iphones and Androids that I see.

Out of my group of 20 friends, there were about 15 including me that used bb's extensively. Now I'm the only person who has a bb, the rest have moved to the latest iphones or androids...more android than iPhone.

Anyhow I don't see many selling at this price point other than the hardcore BlackBerry fans but as much as I am one, I'm loathed to pay that much when I know in a few weeks or mths the price will drop like it did with the z30 when that was released last year.

FYI, just called Manchester Trafford Centre store. Got put straight through to the tech department where I asked if they were selling the BB Passport. Bloke went "Yep, it's come in this morning we're selling it now!" I asked if there was a colour choice, price etc and I heard him asking a colleague who was relating back to him that there wasn't a price showing.

She then came on the phone and said "it's not actually going on sale until 3pm, so we can't give any information out other than that sorry."
I said it was fine and asked if they could hold one for me but she said no as they can't turn people away if there are people who want them there and then.

Looks like I've got a decision to make whether to go for 3pm or not then...

Baah. My partner works 30 minutes from the store. I just said "Fk it!, go get me one. After waiting all this time, and extra �50+ means nothing. I still have my z10 + z30 to sell. I could surely get �170 for both of those. Takes this baby down to about �390 ish. Funny thing is, I have not even held the phone; just taking a big jump!

Make sure she picks up a nano sim too...

I'm not sure anything is cheap at Selfridges. It's hardly a pound shop. I would think it's cheaper elsewhere shortly afterwards.

Haha, I sense a weakness in the force! Just waiting for my partner to pull her finger out and get those buns down to Selfridges. Can't badger her any more. I'm already getting the "�530 for a phone that looks weird, for a phone you have not held, or tried - and one that will most likely be �100's cheaper by the end of next month". Part of me wanted to say, in the smiling manner one would address their respected partner, "STFU! and get da fook!".

Was thinking of trading up to the passport from my q10 but at this price, ill not bother. I think I'll try and pick up a bargain z30 from those looking to upgrade.... I miss ever getting rid of my z30 anyway

Today I have been to O2, which now does not sell BlackBerry (I will move my business elsewhere) , CPW and Vodafone both which hadn't heard of it ; "but if you want an new iPhone 6 no problem". Selfridges here I come.

This reminds me of the app store fiasco we had for years, where UK pricing was so much higher than US pricing. Same again, had it been �440 or so (a rough price parity with the US) I would have been happy to trade my Q10 in for one. Now, I look forward to the inevitable price crash.
