I so wish this was launching in Manchester Selfridges too. Seems it's probably gonna be just London. I wouldn't mind, but if it's gonna be the Carphone Warehouse I end up getting it from then that's gonna be an extra �20 no doubt to get the phone with a SIM card that requires a top up before you can buy as per all their handsets. *rolls eyes

Hmm think I'm gonna hang fire on the passport. I was hoping between 400-500 uk pounds but 529 is just a bit too much I think.
Looking at the one to one currency, in American dollars, it works out to 867 dollars. Lol so much for the 599 price point, obviously here in rip off uk such things do not exist.

BUT knowing what I'm like, I'll be down in Selfridges in London and if I really really like it then screw it, I'll be buying one lol.

Europe always has to have stupid pricing... 600$ in america, 868$ in UK and 770$ with Euro currency countries... Someone is making money

BTW, in the uk the passport is only 10� cheaper than the Iphone6, so Jonh Chen's strategy of price undercut doesn't work very well in the UK

I must admit the more I think about the price the more I think it is a little over my budget. I didn't exactly have a budget tbh, I have just been in the "I want it" mindset haha, but now I'm not sure. It's a lot of money for me to spend on it but I do really really want it.

Obviously, it looks like London Selfridges is gonna be the only place with it for a bit anyway, so I can't buy it, (unless I get a train down!) so maybe into give me some time to mull it over and get some thoughts from the incredibly lucky people who will be getting one tomorrow or getting a hands on then.

That is extremely steep ... if you base it on the US$599 before sales tax, it works out to be �440 inclusive of UK 20% VAT. That's a mark-up of �90.00.

Definitely think under �500 would have been the sweet spot. Even �499 would have looked a lot more appealing than �529.99...

Some more thinking and I will definitely go and have a look at it. As much as I like it via the pics, playing around with one may make me change my mind about it.

But if I do really want it, I'll wait for a price drop. No way am I going to spend more than 400 uk pounds on a phone that could possibly kill BlackBerry off especially here in the uk. At 529 uk pounds, this phone won't even get off the launch pad...my sneaky feeling is Selfridges are price gouging it and it will spectacularly backfire on them.

I waited a few mths before I bought the z30, it was selling for 500 uk pounds...I ended up getting it for 390 uk pounds off amazon lol.

So yep I won't be buying one tomorrow even if I absolutely love it. I'll just wait a few mths for the inevitable price drop or worse case I'll get my bro in Canada to send one over to me. Will work out cheaper if I do it from there but would need to make sure I get the right model with the right bands.

If I remember the Q10 launch correctly, on launch day Selfridges were charging a little more than everywhere else a week later. I don't expect the CPW price to be more than 499 pounds if that info is true.

Even �529GBP is a competitive price off-contract. Let's just hope that it's not too unorthodox, nor the BlackBerry brand considered too 'risky', for non BlackBerry users to invest in it...

But the uk market isn't strong for BlackBerry, no shops here really sell BlackBerry other than cpw and even they aren't that interested in selling you a BlackBerry.
