So I hear that the typing experience is far better on classic but since is the PP forum please tell me about your experience vs. Classic if you have both. Or if just the PP your thoughts in general.

I think both are good. Classic is better due to the "classic" keyboard layout, but I get used to passport in just few days.
My suggestion: if you can accept the big size, buy a passport.

I've used both. To me when I first got my passport I hated it I thought it was awful. After a couple days it was the best typing experience on a blackberry ever. Still is. Larger keys far superior to the crammed classic. Passport is also just a better phone if you can get used to its size.

I've got both as well. I actually sold my first Passport, bought a Classic and then bought another Passport. I don't really notice any performance issues unless they're side by side. The Passport is a monster, viewing documents on it and browsing the web is amazing. The Classic just feels like home, I think it's my favorite out of all of the phones I have used.

However, I always carry two phones and right now the Classic is my daily driver because of its perfect size and my other phone is the Nexus 6P. When I return to an iPhone, I think I'll start carrying the Passport again; two big phones isn't ideal for me.

I can type on my Passport SE very well, almost better than on a PC-keyboard. The special characters are well organised. It's much better than double- or triple-engaging the keys. The Passport is a very agreeable typing experience.

I have used both. The Classic was faster to adapt to. I like the Passport better though both for the keyboard and the overall experience.

I use my phone for emails, contacts, reminders, calendar, and calls. Lots of documents reading too so that was the defining task that pushed me over to a PP.

    definitely get both!
Classic as daily driver as phone and all around
Passport as super-mini-Tablet with 128GB microSD

typing on a classic is much faster for short notes and BBM, but the screen size on the PassPort is nicer for text work and browsing.

I have both and use the Classic for the weekend outside phone and the SE Passport for the work week.
I used my Classic last weekend for the first time in months.
SE Passport is much better but the Classic is a good phone.

My first Blackberry ever was the Classic. I had it for 10-15 days and sold it. I found it a bit slow and the battery for me was very bad. Now, 1 year after, I went back to Blackberry and bought the Passport. I really love this phone. It is unique, quick and gets the job done. I'm struggling a bit with battery life on this one too.... (But i will write another post about that...)..

I would go for Passport - no doubt. You will get used to the size. It isn't really that big honestly.

Which keyboard and mouse are those?

I DON'T carry both every few months I rotate. Depends on the season and "pocketability."

The keyboard on the Passport was a challenge for me for months. Now I can type without looking at the keyboard but it took a long time.

The big keys are really nice and keep fingers from getting cramped.

I have a stupid question: many of you have two phones. How do you supposedly switch back and forth? Do you have two phone numbers, or do you move the SIM card around?
I am curious, because I have a classic but want to get a Passport as well.

Classic and PP both have nano Sims so not a big deal to switch. I have 2 phone lines and forward my calls from my primary number. I'm sure people here have all kinds of scenarios that involve work vs. personal phones.

Both phones are really good to use. You can't really go wrong with either one. The keyboard on the Classic was better to use for speed and convenience of the Alt key, and it just generally functioning like a real keyboard, but the SE keyboard i find I am more precise on, mainly due to the larger keys.

Get the PP,...you will thank yourself later! Us PP owners already know.

Now,...what I'd like to see is a merge between the Passport and the Classic.

I've suggested posts here on CB.com what I think the configuration would be. It would be just dandy if this were to occur! I'd probably buy two units,...especially if they enlarge the screen,...more RAM, Faster Processor, more Battery Juice. It is time for the "BlackBerry Ultimate",....you hear that Mr. Chen,...bring us the BlackBerry Ultimate,...with BB10 and Android.

Trust me, I spent many weeks debating and trying out the Classic and the Passport SE, and ultimately I decided to stick with the SE. Everyone's reasons will be different, but I had to choose function over feel (of the Classic keyboard). The Classic's keyboard felt really nice under the thumbs, and it felt like I could type with such efficiency with the Alt key and just all the keys being there like on a typical desktop keyboard. I did, however, find that the auto correct wasn't as powerful on it, and the keys being smaller meant I was apt to hit neighbouring keys, unintentionally. The SE keys are larger (and don't require as much force as on the original Passport) and so they work really well. Furthermore, the larger screen size makes Web browsing, document viewing, and picture taking so much better, and all of those things are important to me. The SE battery as well is far superior too.

Bottom line: choose the device that suits your lifestyle and usage patterns the best!

Going back OP, I have a Passport and my wife a Classic, so I get to spend time with both devices. Personally, for thumb typing I much prefer the Passport to the Classic. The narrow Classic keys end up working well enough because of their tilt, but the wider Passport keys provide a more precise feel. It gets better too once the Passport keys loosen up, a break-in period we didn't seem to need with the Passport.

One way, however, where the Classic really scores points is by having the tool belt buttons. I wish somehow these could be on the Passport but not at the expense of other features. Anyway, good luck making your choice.

I'd say the Classic is much more practical. It's like comparing a rear wheel drive muscle car to an economy AWD hatchback. The Classic *can* be used faster with the toolbelt and full keyboard. The issue is with multi tasking, running Android apps, or having large SD cards full of media. My Classic starts to chug the more my SD card(64gb), fills and I try and browse the gallery or use the media player. If I launched certain Android apps the phone would slowly perform worse even if I closed the app. I'd have to restart it to bring it back to "health"

The Passport requires more touching that breaks the speedy flow of the Classic. The keyboards only fault is lack of hardware napping for certain punctuation. Otherwise I don't find it too too large and typing isn't so crazy coming from the Classic. I miss my call and end keys, but the performance makes up for it. Passport wins in build quality, but that also means I worry about ruining the gorgeous red and black finish! I'm not one who can bounce between two devices, so I'm hoping the Passport convinces me to keep it.
