Not sure if anyone else mentioned it yet, but go to parental controls and at bottom, you can disable amazon.

I got rid of the browser since I have browsie and didn't want a second one

Edit: not a complete riddance but better than what I did better

but you can do it from inside bes settings from what I saw someone mention.

this is for people who don't use it :S
how do you even get balance without a work connection/bes?

could you disable it before you use balance? or remove balance, disable, then add it back?

Haven't tried that... removing the work profile, disabling Amazon and reinstalling BES.
    Shall try it...

Isn't it automatically disabled until you launch it for the first time? Mine doesn't even show up in "Applications" since I haven't opened it. But once you open it there is no going back.

after using this some more, it seems like if you disable amazon, you lose ability to install android apps, which is no big deal to me. I don't install many apps and when I do, I can reenable amazon then disable when done.

android apps continue to work, just can't install. Which is fine with me, it's like extra security.

i can't say if it helps battery life or not, no idea what disabling amazon actually does to OS... except being unable to install apk files. I have a slightly better battery life but on the same day, I also upgraded OS to new release... so I can't say which is playing on the battery life...

@Stomps, that's why I posted. If you disable it, it is kind of "going" back. It removes Amazon. Even if you disable, then reenable (to get apk installer to work), Amazon stays gone until you agree to reinstall it
