I am going to get one. The question for me is what color(s) will ATT have. I doubt they will have a red one. As of this moment, I like the original a little better. It looks more distinctive, in my opinion. I really like the red one, and with the Pay Pal deal from Shopblackberry, I get an unlocked phone for less than what ATT will sell it for.

Lip at the bottom to make typing and also holding the phone easier, rounded corners make the phone more aesthetically pleasing... That plus the awesomeness of the passport is a great step forward....

But look at how quickly this update has been made.. will this be exclusive too ATT only? It seems that ATT might have first dibs on the new design, but this might be a genuine upgrade to the next generation passport.

This is why Ive stopped getting 2 year contracts... People who purchased the square passport on a 2 yr contract are stuck.. Or hard done by rather??... I learnt the hard way by doing the same with the z10...

I don't like it. Perhaps my opinion is biased because I've had a Passport for awhile now, but that rounded edge design just makes it fall in line with other phones out there. The Passport was meant to stand out. I'm sure this will make a number of people very happy though, in that it essentially becomes a beefed up replacement/version of the Q10/Classic.

Honestly, I think AT&T just wanted the Passport and Classic to look more alike. With the Passport being the phablet upgrade, sort of like the iPhone 6 and 6+

I thought the same thing when I went to the AT&T info page where noth phones were shown.

It would be nice to see a tear down of the 2 passports though. Probably not much different underneath but still would be cool.

Well at least now its more true to its name and much like my passport which has rounded corners. Though they did get rid of the I beam and maybe fixed the flexing that having a square device might have. The micro USB port seems to be the weak part of the I Beam construction and its all now just one band

Corners are not an issue for me but I like the idea of the added real estate at the bottom. I think it will help a lot.

Thx dose. So is the ATT version longer due to the chin or is just a perspective glitch. Guess you can say goodby to 3rd party slimcases with that.

personally i think it looks great in both renditions, i have the square one, but given the opportunity i would absolutely go for the rounded edges.
i am thinking this is what blackberry wanted and the only way to release it without people thinking negative things about it was to have a carrier start selling it, i would imagine that it will eventually be available across the board in either the square or the round format.

i can see the rounded edges being better for when the phone is in my front pants pocket. having said that the phone rarely leaves my hand. im a passport showoff.

Personally I like the original one, looks more distinctive.

On the other hand, could the elongated chin point towards reworked / tweaked internals? If you have seen the insides of any modern smartphone - there isn't much empty space in there - everything is crammed in so efficiently. That "empty" elongated chin would be very rare / strange.

I'm thinking similarly to this as well. Offering a redesign as a "carrier exclusive" is a good way to get a new updated model out to sell, while still selling off the stock of the original square Passport. A tear down of the new rounded Passport will hopefully happen quickly. But I won't be surprised if other carriers and retailers begin selling the rounded PP once they sell out of the square and have to restock.

I like it.....and have two upgrades. As far as the other changes, if you're on at&t, you knew some changes would happen if they were going to carry it. Same as the other carriers.
