I was holding onto my 2.5 year old Q10 and waiting for the Priv to be released. Now I'm leaning towards the Passport SE because of BB10.

My question to all Passport owners is how long do android apps take to launch? Specifically Spotify and Waze. On my Q10, they can take anywhere from a low of 10 seconds to 30 seconds to fully load. Sometimes they just hang. Is the experience the same for the Passport? Thanks.

Waze worked just fine and didn't take lot of time to launch on my OG Passport. I don't use it anymore on the SE. I like Google Maps better.
    I can't say about Spotify.

Never use Spotify. But as for other apps that i'm using, no problem so far. Not even a problem when I use android apps in my Classic.

Spotify loads in about six seconds on my Passport. Waze loads in about 5 seconds.

Both work ok. Waze heats up the phone (which is normal in all phones and OSes) because it is using radio. Sometimes on long drives when the phone heats up too much and I switch from waze minimize it and go to another android app like viber. When I switch back to waze it becomes very sluggish. If I stay with waze all throughout there is no problem.

All Android apps sometimes get the not responding message. I think this is related to memory available.

Another question, has the plastic camera lens cover gotten scratched? I've replaced the lens cover on my Q10 twice already. It gets scratched when I put it in my pants pocket without a case. The Passport lens cover looks more difficult to replace. Thanks.

I find that Android apps still come up slow, in comparison to native or my friends Android phones. The other negative is that they seem to really eat up the battery more than native apps. If android apps are important you may want to consider the Priv.

Don't use waze, but I use spotify all the time and no issues. Launches fast for me.

SoCs are vastly different between the Q10 and the Passport. It will be like night and day for you loading Android apps.

I use spotify all the time, the experience is great on the PP. On my G3 all android apps load faster but the PP is very close behind. Takes an avg of 3-5 seconds to fully load, for me.

Just a note, if you start any Android app in the minutes following an OS boot, the launch time will be longer as the Android Runtime is still launching...

Android apps have improved massively I had a Z30 18 months or so ago and it was very obvious when you lauched an android app vs a native one. Now for most I cannot tell the difference and spotify is pretty quick.

I can't get waze to work on my pp... D:

    Spotify worked ok...

Recently a couple of my frequently used android apps don't work as of today... which sucks... Tapatalk is gone... Skype also is gone... can't install them and not 100% convinced they've gone either..
