    Sorry no....

As many BlackBerry World Apps are just Android Ports, I think you would find the Passport without the Android Runtime.. a very limiting experience.

But yeah it would be nice to have the option to turn off some features - Android Runtime, BBM..... pure QNX might have been a powerhouse without all the added "features".

There are times I wish this were possible, too.

The Android runtime is still very buggy and inconsistent overall. Even though I agree this would to some degree limit app functionality, I still think the ability to turn it off should be there as an option.

I would love to have iOS/Windows subsystem on my passport, than android. I cannot stand the app stutter and RAM guzzling android.

BTW, I was able to turn off BBM through parental control.

Maybe not turn it off, but if you don't launch any Android apps, you'll save some resources. If you'll note, upon the first invocation of any Android app, there's a slight delay as the Android Runtime starts up. (Maybe the Passport is fast enough for this not to be noticable?) If you reboot your Passport and not launch any Android apps, you should be good to go.

Does anyone know what happens if when doing a Sachesi OS load you delete the Android Runtime bar files before loading?

Passport or Z10, whichever is nearest

Whatsapp is an android port or not?

If yes, as it starts when the phone boots, it would mean the android runtime runs all the time for me.

Whatsapp for BB10 is native, if you installed through BlackBerry World then you're golden. No androids here, move along.

Half of applications in BBW are Android ports and to be honest, I consider Android as native too. It's in default installation, it's native app.
