I see some post on this thread that this kind of protectors are not needed, by experience I can fully tell you, Yes they are needed. This is all I went through for not protecting my Passport, I like my devices naked only have my Seido spring holster, maybe it can help:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=988964

On the other note now that my new Passport arrived and now that I know that tempered glass protectors exist, which one should I buy? I really want the best, I do not want to go through everything I went again... I typed incorrectly Fantom and links appeared, which one is the correct and best one, Phantom or Fantom?

In Hong Kong phone shop. Tried to search in Capdase Web but it's too new (or website is not yet updated). It's matt finish so no glare or fingerprints. No grainy look either. Was HK$80

    Picture of it installed? Thanks

Doesn't overhang, nice fit, no oil and anti-glare. Not sure when it will show up on Capdase website?

This is because the manufacturer prevents the curved screen. I purchased two different brands of tempered glass. The first was generic, and I had the same puzzlement at how narrow it was .... I assumed it was due to manufacturer error. So then I bought the Nillkin brand, and this time the measures coincided with the screen ... but, when placed, you will see what happens:

As you can see, it is not a question of quality, but the curved screen prevents the edges of the film to adhere to the screen, causing the rather unsightly margin.
On the other hand, I say for buying several Nillkin, I test the resistance to scratches and I can only say it's amazing material hardness. Impossible to scratch with the tips of scissors, even making much pressure that ended up breaking glass. The material never even hinted scratched.
Surely (as also I have the Frost Shield Case Nillkin and brings a traditional protective film), the standard film adheres to the screen more verbose way, but I have no doubt that the quality of protection is NOT the same.

    This is my Passport stuff...:

Man people just dont read threads throughly.

Not all tempered glass screens are made equal. This one for example only has a 1mm "lift"

Some crappy ones have ALOT more lift at the sides.

Hi CacheBerry! Thanks for the feedback. So, are you happy with the Phantom Glass on your Passport? Does it collect dirt on the sides? Does it interfere/cut when you do the BB10 gestures?

My tempered glass screen protector just came in from Newegg.com. Made by Sojitek. Glad that it is made smaller so there's no screen lift on the edges.

Maybe I missed someone noting it in this thread but Seidio has tempered glass screen protectors for both Passport and Classic available. Some in around $29 as I recall. May have been a little cheaper.

That looks great! I cant see any "lift" but does the protector cover the phone display when lit up?

Thanks for taking the time to post. Sojitek looks like the best so far.

The seidio tempered screen is expensive like phantom glass at 29 bucks. But it does look properly fitted.

Big Picture, there is a really tiny gap between the screen protector and the LCD on the left and right edge. I think they made it like this as the gorilla glass starts going down at that part?

I have the same issue as previously mentioned. Honestly it's a pain in the rear bc now part of the visual is in a different depth of your vision. They definitely could have made the area large enough to cover the entire screen. That's just my 2 cents. I'll take pic for you if I can find another phone tomorrow.
