That's it! I have the day off, and I'm going to every Telus store I can find to download the Amazon app store on the demos. In addition, I'll use NFC to transfer some other APK files from my Z30 so customers can see Icons for Netflix, Candy crush, Instagram, etc.. already pre-loaded

    Posted via CB10
You don't need to download the Amazon app store in 10.3. It's already there.

Transferring APKs via NFC is pretty cool tho

If true, no thanks BlackBerry. What's that? Unlocked iPhone 6 Plus, 64GB for $100 more, not looking like a bad deal any more!

Kidding aside, fingers crossed that this is false, but if true, it's more than every other premium smartphone except the iPhone.

I would hope it's the same price as the US (they too pay sales tax). Although it does seem that since the carriers here in Canada have gone to the 2 year plans they try and gouge us to maintain ridiculous profit margins. May have to get one from somewhere other than Telus, Rogers etc if they keep up this asinine charade.

You have to also remember, $599 US is supposed to be unlocked. We're being told $750 CAD + tax, locked. Surely must be a joke.

Robellus man. They do what they want. BlackBerry, even if they wanted to (which I doubt they would anyway), has no leverage.

I think / hope that 750 number is a tax included number.
Exchange rate right now is 599 us = 663 cad. So I hope BlackBerry rounds down to 649 or better yet, since they ARE a Canadian company, I'd like to see 599 cad. You'd think buying a Canadian product in Canada, would be less expensive than buying a Canadian product in any other country.

A Japanese motorcycle should be cheaper in Japan, should it not?

Instead, the z30 was 349 on shopblackberry.com while the Canadian website had it for 499.

good thing i set up that US mailing address when i bought my z10 plus having GF parents who live in california in case thats the only way to get the $599. getting it on contract is one thing but there is no way i'm going to hand over that extra money to Bell, id rather have it go into Blackberry's pockets.

Our corporate rep at telus informed us $200 on contract and $750 off contract. Never asked if that $750 plus tax, but safe to say it's plus tax.

    Oh.... go **** yourself .

To whoever is to be blamed for this, Telus or BlackBerry.

    No.

    Not paying 750.

My price is 650 which is more than generous.

That's how much it will cost to import a unit for the US anyway.

    Completely agree.
Going to contact someone I know at Blackberry and see if the passport is available for employees to purchase with their discount. More than likely not. I believe Blackberry employees can purchase new devices a few months after release. Going to give it a shot anyways.
