here's an update for you guys... i figured out how to get the tablet version.
1. install the 3 apk files required for Google Play (google play apk, google id, google account)
2. open the Google Play app, swipe down to adjust the screen size to zoomed out
3. enter you Google login details. then close the app.
4. open the Google ID app, swipe down the adjust the screen size to zoomed out
5. click on obtain a Google ID, then enter your Google login. close the app.
6. Open Google Play, search for 'td bank', you should now see TD Bank Tablet version.
Good luck.
This is many months later, but I downloaded the latest TD (Canada) app from Snap and the mobile deposit worked right away. I was concerned that the app's mobile payment function, which wouldn't (and doesn't) work on BB10, would somehow interfere with the the Ugo mobile payment that I do have and use regularly. Fortunately there does not seem to be any problems having both apps on my phone.

This may be slightly off-topic, but what is the point of having an option to deposit a check? I can't remember the last time I even received a paper check. So you take a picture of the check and they deposit it into your account? What do you do with the actual check?
Obviously never used any type of mobile deposit. Interested in how it works. If I did not have direct deposit then I can just take a picture of the check? Again, what to do with the actual check? I'd think these days people do not get paper checks anymore anyway... hmm.

I still get the occasional paper check. Mobile deposit is pretty useful, especially since the bank I use it with is a couple thousand miles away. Literally.
Some banks have you mail in the check after mobile deposit, some have you destroy it after a set time.
I still get a few personal checks a year but regularly get business checks which is a shame you can't mobile deposit.
Thanks for the info. I was just curious about the paper checks and how the mobile deposit works.

The TD Android app that I just started using on my Z30 requires you to sign the back of the cheque, write your account number, write "for deposit only", take a photo of the front and back of the cheque using the app. They recommend holding onto the cheque for ten days (probably to make sure it clears and there wasn't an issue with the photo) and then destroy the cheque.

..has anyone got this working? with the latest version of the app, I get to the finish line, photos look good...but then it says loading for a long time and a message comes up saying td mobile deposit temporarily unavailable...its been temporary for months...anyone?

ok so it works!!! although TD does not put this information out there, you must fill out the info on the back of the cheque as mentioned by a previous poster. a much more useful error message would avoid a heck of a lot of customer frustration here....TD???
