I need to get a new tablet, right now I have the first galaxy note tablet. I'm interested in opinions on what tablet may work best with blackberry blend and the passport. I do have a one year old imac as my main computer.

Depends on what more you would want with it. I highly recommend the surface (pro) tablets myself!

I'm really partial to the iPad. I hate the look of windows 8 and their tablets. It all depends on what you are going to use it for. The ipad for me is more media consumption then an actual work space. I can't recommend a surface since i've never used one. I used Blend when i had the passport on my mac and it worked awesome. I'm sure it works the same way on an iPad. Good luck in your seraches and i hope you like whatever you pick.

I'd go with a surface pro 3. Do the iPad airs have OS capable of running full mac apps?

Surface Pro 3 is really nice.

If you want to spend less, I have a Dell Venue 8 pro that works very well with blend.
    It's about $200.

IPads are nice too, just depends on what you need.

IMO anything is better than Android.

The Surface is a laptop replacement. It's great but it's also huge.

Some with Win8.1... You can have Blend, Link, Sachesi, install autoloaders and everything you can do in a windows 8.1 PC... linked to your BB10
You can get some Asus/Dell/Lenovo with great build quality around $200. You can run Apps and full programs on them, having less limitations... like choosing your browser... Batery life is very good on some...

If an iMac is your main computer, an iPad mini should be a good choice as a tablet.

If you want a true tablet and to only use the tablet features to consume info, then the iPad is probably best. If you need something closer to a full PC then windows 8 tablets are great.

I just don't see a place for android tablets other than the Kindle which is basically a cheaper option to the iPad in terms of target audience.

The correct answer is iPad. Any of them. They are flat out superior for tablet computing. If you need a full blown PC and want to spend $1100 plus for a decently spec'd out SP3.

I'd get a deeply discounted Air.

My big issue with samsung and android is after a year there's no support or OS updates. I don't see why my first gen note couldn't be updated to 4.4

As the OP is finding.. there are many suggestion.... but in the end as no one knows your preferences and user habits... the only way I could see making a decisions is to simply go out and try some and see if anything tickles you fancy.. buying by opinion or popularity rarely works well.... as for what works best with blend... again a matter of opinion.....good luck to the OP which whatever is chosen....

Exactly, because tablets are such a new product segment and people use them for such varied things.

OP- I have a Nexus 9 that I am in love with. You get the updates directly through Google (supported for several years in the Nexus line). Plus, it has the K1 chip for some slight future proofing. My Passport comes today so I can give you an update on Blend .

The surface pro 6&s are way too overpriced for the same high end laptops with the cpu's.

Why spend $$$ on surface pro 3 when you get even better power from Lenova Yoga 3 which can operate like a tablet! 2700$versus 1500$. I'd get a lenova Yoga3 instead!

I'm looking at power versus $$$! For what the retail pricing is currently on all of the Surface pro 3's it's still a bit high for what you get!

Covertible laptops which can give you tablet functionality in a super slim and light package is the way to go!

Yepp I think the surface pro 3's are over rated for the price! Even the most expensive laptops in comparison to the specs are still higher. There are convirtable laptops out there like the Lenova yoga pro with i7 cpu runs about 1500$
