So, I've decided to get a passport. For financial reasons the at&t payment plan makes sense. BUT, I need to know is there any differences I should know about in the software or internals of the device?? Basically, does at&t limit the performance or any functions of the device? How about the bloatware?

Same internals depending on the model. Bloatware comes along when you connect to the network.

With the AT&T version you get that special charging feature.

Not directly related to performance but you don't get that many accessories option for the AT&T version.

I have the AT&T version. I get around the software update by loading leaks myself instead of waiting for the carrier update.

Less accessories but I find it easier to type on than the original version.

I like the rounded corners better myself.

Silver cases seem to work with att model from what other threads said

I agree with the rounded corners. I didn't know that the Silver Edition cases may work.

Some have said that the AT&T model is a little better built, and the rounded corners do remind me more of the traditional BBOS devices. Having said that, I just purchased an OG Passport, and am really enjoying it. So much for a definitive answer

You guys are great. Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'm sold on the wireless charging, rounded corners and payment plan

I've had the Red the black, the SE and just went back to the OG black. It feels slightly smaller in the hand and more svelte.

I have the ATT version. Love the device, even though my style is more toward single handed operation.

I have the AT&T model and it's great. I've also had the unlocked model, but I must say the rounded corners on the AT&T model is much better for me.
