Link? Throught BlackBerry said everyone to carry before end of year.

In BlackBerry time that could mean just about anything... like maybe before end of 2015.

And ATT wonders why I won't "switch back" whenever they call... They don't carry the phone I want, they don't offer me a better plan for less money.. and I am using their network on Net10 (with it's own set of problems dealing with customer service, but it's not really any worse than dealing with ATT)...

Honestly, Americans, go buy your phone outright, and run it on the carrier of your choice on a pay-go program. You pay a few more $$ up front, but it's cheaper in the long term (hell, mid-term - bought my Z10 pretty cheap a year ago - and paying $25/mo less than if I was on the equivalent contract with ATT... given that math, if I bought a Passport today I'd be paid off in less than 18 months - but I can't justify it right now - waiting until the Z10 dies)

I'm sorry but that is terrible. I get it, BlackBerry is a smaller guy and can't tell AT&T what to do, but they should at least get it into stores before the holiday season. They'll miss the biggest quarter for sales AND they'll be next to next year's Samsung Galaxy and HTC flagship, which might even catch up to Blackberry's specs by that time.

You saying you heard a "tech rep" is equivalent to all the others that talked to "someone"

What makes your statement more accurate than others?

How accurate is N4BB.com? After I've read their article, it seems like they reaaally know what they are talking about. Are they reliable when it comes down to their sources?
I'd say N4BB is not 99% reliable like theVerge or Engadget or MobileNations sites; but, N4BB still has better predictive power than random guessing.

Anyway, everybody here is only hating on N4BB now because it is reporting "bad" news. A lot of forumers jump on N4BB articles with "good" news and it regularly gets praise for having a greater number of articles and more up-to-date news than Crackberry. I see more positive comments about N4BB than negative in general.

Overall, I am still more inclined to believe N4BB than a poster on Crackberry who claims that they've talked to a random sales rep; but, I wouldn't trust them 100%. I say I'd trust them like 75%.

I'm wondering if shipments will come to them Oct 6, pre order, then sale on the 10th (Friday). Or maybe next time BB ships them out. Who knows. Just throwing things out there
Makes sense. Actually, that would be pure love!

    Hi all,

Here's a datapoint from a few minutes ago...

    AT&T Passport Release Date in 2015?!? [RUMOR]-capture.png

Based on this info, I'm disappointed (as well as my team)... if the upgrade price will be $250 in "the first few months of 2015", then the $349 difference for an unlocked unit today is too much for a small team that needs to upgrade 8 - 10 devices. My team will have to wait... unless they want to go buy it as a personal device for business use.

    =(

Once the Passport does arrive on AT&T the cost of the Next Program 12 month will be $30 and Next 18 month will be $25, Assuming they keep the full retail cost at $599.99.

It makes more sense to just buy the Passport from shopblackberry or amazon on a credit card and pay a little extra monthly on your credit card bill.

Advatange: You get the Passport quicker, lower monthly bill, unlocked phone, and you get the BlackBerry oem packaging, cuz you know AT&T will rebrand the packaging and stick it on a white and orange box. lol
This is true if you have a credit card with 0 interest.

    Hi Jay,

Thanks for sharing your transcript. I should have clarified that I was talking to a "technical service" rep and not a sales rep. Over the years, I have found that the "technical service" reps seem to be a bit more informed about devices than the regular "sales support" reps. In the past, I used to have a contact that was in the "blackerry technical service" team and he usually had more advanced information over the front-line "sales support" and general "technical service" folks.

Given the mixed-messaging from "Alice" and "Aspen", I'll have to plan for the the worse-case of February for my team's purchase and just "hope" that "Aspen" is wrong.

This might be because the rep Googled the news and saw the articles about the rumours of it being released in 2015, "digging up" rep may have thought you know what an answer is better than no answer. I'm not defending blackberry here, just saying..

It wouldn't surprise me if ATT won't carry Passport until the release of Classic. I'm sure ATT would rather have two Blackberrys to offer than one. I, like many others, are sick and tired of ATT's silence on this.

There's no point in waiting for AT&T, just buy an unlocked one through BlackBerry or Amazon as they re-stock....if you get one on contract for $199-299 and then pay the additional $15 per month access fee that comes along with a 2 year contract you basically end up paying more for the device anyway! Better to just buy it outright up front and not need to be tied to a contract

So I have a Z10 on contract until March, I just picked up a Passport. Will I have to pay the termination fee on the Z10 or can I just swap the Sims and be good to go? My question is, I can change my Z10 to Passport and not pay any "fees" for doing so or do I?

That's fine if you have $600 to do that. I do not so I need the contract. And I think a lot of people are the same way.

You just take the SIM out of the Z10 and put it in the Passport. Termination fees are on service contracts, not the devices you use.

Does the Passport use the same SIM? I was under the impression it used a smaller one? If not, this may be easier than I thought if I just put my Z10 sim into the Passport without a call or visit to ATT.
