Please don't take it personally, it's just an opinion. But (in my opinion) the Body Glove is obviously no Seidio or OEM BlackBerry case.

Yes it is black...I have one...and it makes the phone look like all of the other phones out there...ugly because of all of the case bulkiness.

I am thinking about modifying the SEIDIO surface holster to pad the AT&T PP better without a case. The height is spot on since the AT&T phone is taller than the -1 model.

Hang on. Seidio told me that they are coming out with an AT&T version of their Surface Case shortly. Like a couple of weeks or less.

Also got the same when I chatted with them to...Any modification was going to be reversible. My thoughts were padding the 2 bottom corners of the holster with a thick leather/rubber material as well as the sides that align the phone. The top clip would need a sliver of rubber to hold the phone from moving when clipped. I am thinking nothing needs to be cut or sanded, just padded with a pleasant looking material that will not scratch the phone.

Based on the release timing, I suspect AT&T has to do with Body Glove making this one in the first place. If you think about it Seidio would be a good choice because they already had one for the original, but I believe they are not a big partner with AT&T. So I commend AT&T for at least getting one engineered by probably assisting Body Glove and making one available at launch.
