Yep! I've been using it all week at work while the network was down.

As long as your plan allows you to utilize the hotspot, you would be good to go.

so when you register for new service with ATT online with a BYOD, did it recognize the IMEI number or how does that work?

I was an existing AT&T customer when I got my Passport so I just got a nano sim from the store and I was good to go.

If you do it online by bringing your own device, it's basically the same process. You'll sign up for a new plan, if you do any of their mobile share plans you'll be able to use the mobile hotspot when you receive your sim card. I'm not sure if their go phone plans will allow the mobile hotspot to be enabled, but I don't see why not if you're bringing over your own Passport.

You should have no worries with their system recognizing the IMEI number of the Passport if you do it yourself online.
