Yep, my system uses 33%. Thus get just a little over 5hours even with out using it once.
    Everything else is at 0.
Also checked my android apps and they are all set to not run in background etc. Also use task manager to shut apps that still come in the background.
I had the exact same apps on my black passport and that after a few days of initial use sorted it self out.
Got the red passport and did a device switch for partial back up, just contacts and media etc.
Every app i installed separately after. Been over a week now with no luck what so ever.
My other passport lasted me days! This doesn't even get me through the day.

    Please any one help?

    Mine is the same.
System and PIM services eat up more than all the rest combined.
My Passport from the very beginning doesn't make more than 6 to 8 hours.
    Same for a few friends.
I can't really believe, when some users claim 20 to 30 hours.
This certainly can be true for standby. But fulltime usage? I don't see it in any of the 6 Passports I've seen in person.

I would suggest paying very careful attention to what apps you have installed.

A fresh install of BB10 should give regular cpu occupancy of between about 3-5% with background services only running (with the occasional peak around 10% ish).

The last time I had a problem like the one described was when I was a Z10 owner. It happened twice:

    1) caused by ebay app installed from BlackBerry World. It had a bug that caused it to guzzle up all resources and make the phone run hot.

    2) same as above but with Neutron music player.

It's highly likely that this is the cause, and one or more of your apps is the culprit. It doesn't matter if it's showing up as 'system', as technically any app running background services could show up as this.

I had the same with the ebay app on my z10 lol

I can confirm on my previous passport i had the exact same apps. Like literally the same apps. Everything is the same. Same software etc. Just the phone is a new red one.
The old one had awesome battery life. Just don't know what it is with this.

Sometimes it's fine, but then my pocket feels hot and i check it's the phone getting a bit hot like proper usage. Where in fact i haven't. It's just been sitting in my pocket.
    Very very strange.

You can be pretty confident it is software and not hardware, at least. If it were hardware (say battery) you wouldn't see that sort of cpu usage.

If I were you I'd start from scratch. Install fresh from autoloader (keeping in mind there's usually a couple of hours higher cpu for the OS to settle down) then install your apps one-by-one, testing the device along the way. The apps I had trouble with only caused issues after they were run for the first time so I'd suggest doing this as well.

Slow process of elimination is the only way I'm afraid.

This is mine. System reached 35%, but only after 48 hours of use. Average battery life is 24 hours (100% - 20%). I use it for games, browsing, music, emails. My data services are always turned on.

Hi! May I ask the degree of screen brightness you use with your passport? Your Display percentage is quite low for the past 48 hrs.

    Thanks!

Well that's what i have done, when i first got the phone.
As time went installed the apps slowly. But it was so poor in the first place that i couldn't tell the difference.

I found something that could have been causing the issue.
I was using a newer Google play services version which i didn't know. (from cobalt) so yesterday i dropped back down to the stable one and the one i was on, has been removed from the site for some reason.

Well report back soon with any updates.

The initial hours following a fresh install are a bad example anyway - it needs a while to settle down and sort out things like file indexes and emails.

If you try again, and after a few hours (without any apps installed) post screens showing your cpu consumption. If it is ALREADY high, can you also post screens showing how you have your email, etc. accounts set and any other non-default settings (remove any personal data from the screen grabs). We'll then be able to compare between my device and yours and hopefully narrow it down.

I'm recently having the exact same issue. can't figure out for the life of me how to fix it. Rebooted. Uploaded an entire new OS. Let it settle for a couple of days and used my Classic. It was fine. Then I loaded android apps. The next day I'm right back to this. No clue what the culprit is, but I'm very annoyed

It could be any one of those (or more than one) unfortunately. So that's a heck of a lot of work to get through in identifying the culprit.

With Android apps, even uninstalling has the potential to leave residual services, etc. I think the only way to figure out which ones are eating up your cpu resources and battery is to wipe/autoload, then monitor for a considerable time as you add one app back at a time.

It's much more likely to be an Android app (but we can't discount something installed over BBW, either native or Android runtime).

I use very few apps in comparison:
