(2) Lenovo is not going to buy Blackberry. PERIOD. The Canadian government will not allow the sale to a Chinese company.
Lenovo might be a bridge that Blackberrry needs to use to get BB10 sales started in China. Either through a Lenovo branded phone or through their distribution system, or some other means.
I think John Chen would puke if he knew his team had led such a disgraceful and sloppy bug out.
You want to be a business users Phone and you go shunt all their appointments with a bug? You think that audience EVER wants here the word 'go to settings and' - no. They just throw the device back in their tech departments face and say "get me something that works."
No second chances with clientele. Blackberry need to up their game.
I'm sure he is upset, yes. It's not good, but the fact of the matter is that software is complex, multifaceted, and OS releases are often accompanied by bugs that slip through the cracks. My point was not that this bug is okay, but that there is almost never an OS release that "just works," to the extent that it doesn't have a single bug-- it's quite possible that there never has been a first release of a major OS branch that was 100% completely bug free. I have no doubt it will be corrected soon.
It's upsetting, and we all hope it gets fixed; I don't think anyone was saying "it's okay." But, if there's a workaround, helping people find it in the meantime can only help. I think the OP would rather deal with a workaround than deal with a host of incorrect appointment times. If they'd like to switch platforms as a result, that's fine, too.

I don't know what he's smoking, but itunes is not better than ANYTHING...

OMG, itunes is horrible! I've used that garbage for years and still hate using it with my ipads...which I'm planning to replace if I find a better option.

Exactly. It's worrying about an unverified assumption that might happen in the event that an unverified rumour happens.
:-)
There are dozens of rumours of "someone" buying BlackBerry, including Lenovo several times before. Until someone says, "Company A and Company B have reached an agreement", it's not worth worrying about.
To me, it's almost like worrying if I should walk outside because there's a risk that a meteor might strike the earth.
A good fit would be ibm.

IBM would be amazing but they are already in a huge partnership with Apple.
Microsoft would be the best "if" they kept BB10 and worked around QNX structure for there next Gen products /software. Imagine Microsoft services (except. Internet Explorer and bing) on BB10.
But in reality , Microsoft would scrap BlackBerry and keep patents.
I'm hoping for a big partnership at least. I just have no idea what BlackBerry has to offer for a big partnership.

I'm not so sure that would be a good bet.

I bought and iPhone 6 on launch day and after a week and putting up with allot of bugs, I took the device back and got a refund. I decided that the passport was a better buy for the money.

Worse or better. Hadn't tried it

As others have already mentioned, you have to decide for yourself if you can live without those i-Stuffs.
On Lenovo buying Blackberry, I doubt it. With the PRC's current political system, Canada may block it again for security reasons. If Lenovo succeeds in buying BlackBerry, then I might move to a different brand.
The Canadian government would not permit the sale to the Chinese.

If you have a Passport, you do not need a tablet...not even a notebook, unless you want to watch movies on airCanada rouge.

Being in the stock business myself first of all if something makes money it would be sold to the highest bidder. However I do agree that blackberry has been receiving a lot of canadian government support and with chinese hacker groups running amok neither the us nor canada would allow a chinese company to take over blackberry

Just got the email from Amazon.... Passport is coming on Tuesday!!!!!!!!! Whooo Hoooo
I have the Passport as my main phone and an iPhone 6 as a backup/camera phone. I love the PP but I think the iP6 camera is still better in that it focuses faster and takes pictures faster.

John Chen sold Sybase after 50+ quarters (10+ years) of solid quarter over quarter growth - he has already said that if a suitor is ready to pay over $100 for Blackberry's stock he may make a call. This shows that today John Chen places Blackberry's value at about 50 Billion dollars - clearly he is not in the business of "flipping" businesses for cheap.
If at all there will be some kind of deal to bring Lenovo/Blackberry devices into China - John Chen is visiting China next week to explore the possibilities.
I am using apple products like macbook pro, ipad. But its a different story with iphone..i just dont like the it. I am more productive with a blackberry than an iphone. I have tried it several times to try iphone but after 2 weeks to 1 mos. Im kinda missing BlackBerry, so it always turns out selling my iphone for the #workwide BlackBerry. Your decision to switch to BlackBerry is a wise decision. :)
