It seems to work better from the bottom centre of the screen

I just noticed that small swipes are hard to do when the screen is off. In my Z10, I used to used to swipe up just a little to turn on the screen. In my Passport, I need to swipe up to at least 30% of the screen to turn on the screen.

Use the "U" key. I assume it is a shortcut for unlock. Works for me everytime

I believe, by default, 'U' is for calculator. Check the speed dials

When device screen is off, U key is used to lit the screen.
When screen is on, long press U for calculator shortcut.

Using U key to turn the screen on, saves battery because the screen doesn't need to get ready for a swipe all the time. And it helps preventing pocket dialling..

Thanks JAFRUL. Learned something new. Like I indicated in a previous post, I use the "U" key to wake up my BlackBerry Passport. I did not know about the long "U" for calculator. Tried it and there it was. Good tip.
