Here is my suggestion for the much awaited BlackBerry passport. Since it will be targeting professionals and business people, how bout they make a limited edition package with the phone. For example

    BlackBerry Passport CEO edition
Comes with a leather case (with credit card slots)
    Bluetooth headset
    Special edition box(black and gold)
    Premium headphones
    Limited edition wallpaper and clock

    Pro edition
    Comes with leather case
    Premium headphones
    Special edition box(silver)

What do u guys think? Or what do the people from BlackBerry think if they are reading this post..

Me too.. they need to go all out with this phone, and I believe that people will buy it. I wish I'm good with picture editing and I would have made a pic of this concept

    Limited edition wallpaper?

A premium package seems like a great idea, but I consider black and gold a little bit tacky (hey, that's just me)

Limited edition wallpaper just made for the phone and a version of the porsche clock but more elegant.

Agree. I don't think CEOs buy their smartphones like this. They aren't going to look at the leather case and decide that their wallet is now this man-purse with a Blackberry logo that has their phone in it. They are probably going to want to use or buy their own headphones and the special edition box will not be proudly displayed on their desk. Professionals don't need that stuff either.

This would be better targeted as a Fanboy Edition. Those are the customers that want all the included accessories with the logos.

Yeah, real businessmen buy the best tool at the cheapest price (ie without extraneous junk). And the Passport is definitely more of a tool than a luxury item, imo.

Hey, I'm not disparaging it if it can make BlackBerry more money. But it seems sort of excessive while Blackberry is just making its comback.

I think anything that they can do to present the Passport as a premium device would help. There are plenty of unboxing videos that surface on Youtube to warrant paying packaging details attention. They always comment on the quality of packaging and the feel of quality (or lack thereof). Apple devices look & feel high quality, including packaging, so why not?

Now you're just stating the obvious. I think the point is BlackBerry needs to step up their game overall, whether it's packaging or accessories included needs to be improved

Longtime BlackBerry users can verify, prior to BB10, there was a definitive elegance and statement of quality in the presentation and packaging of BlackBerry phones. With BB10 phones, the boxes became as thin as construction paper, the "you are about to open a premium piece of equipment " feel just hasn't been there lately.

Here's to hoping the Passport resets to the previous BlackBerry packaging statement of "premium device ahead"!

Apple devices are simple, have simple packaging, and have minimal accessories. Every iPhone is special. You don't need a basket full of junk to make it premium.

I'm all for nice packaging, graphic design, and whatnot. But having all the other stuff actually might make the Passport seem LESS premium in comparison. BlackBerry should appear confident. Just the Passport (and headphones/charger) is enough.

    Yes great idea!

When I bought my first berry, I was hooked, and the phone felt more premium when it had a leather pouch included, inlike any other brand out there!

I wish they would get back there, atleast with flagships!

It should come with a case, I don't care which one, it's very hard to find one for some people, so this will give a head start protecting their phones while finding the final case for it, which may take a while by the way.

Yep. Unboxing every new BBRY phones was quite a nice experience, until BB10. I had always got my BBRY as international, unlocked versions, so they came in these black Blackberry box. Things inside were neatly in place, either packed in different boxes/envelopes or nicely arranged in different compartments. It showed that they cared about their products, and about you as the person paying the money. Now opening a box of BB10, under the phone is a mess. There is no pride, no class in it, as if they don't care about themselves, nor their products, nor the buyer.
