    Hello,

I recently bought a new TV supporting Miracast. One of the first things I did was connecting my Passport to the TV through Miracast, and it worked just fine (a bit of lag, but still). The connection took a few seconds on the first try. When I tried to disconnect the screen mirroring, it didn't take until I turned off WiFi. I didn't think much of it.

A day later, I tried to connect to the TV again, but this time it didn't work. While I can see the connection happening on both screens (accepting the connection, "Connected"-labels and whatnot), every time I screen mirror I simply get a black screen. Also, the connection itself isn't that smooth either, with "Could not connect"-messages several times.

Today, I want to access my computer files from the File Manager on the Passport. Usually, I can simply click on my computer name from the side-menu and my folders will show up. Now, it keeps loading and ends up showing an empty screen (no folders).

What is more strange is that when connecting to Blend, I usually get a notification on my phone stating that I am now connected through Blend (see screenshot). This time, the notification keeps coming every few seconds with different messages:

"Blackberry Blend is currently displaying supported applications on your computer or tablet (COMPUTER-NAME) over a Wi-Fi network connection."

"Blackberry Blend is currently displaying supported applications on your computer or tablet (COMPUTER-NAME) over a Unknown connection."

Something has clearly gone wrong ever since I disconnected my TV. I don't have any problems with my WiFi or anything else.

    Any ideas?

I did, same result. I even tried to connect through 4G, resetting my WiFi router, resetting my TV, restart everything - no luck.

I did, several times. Also tried deleting the WiFi connection on the phone and reconnect.

Maybe I accidently hit the wrong setting?

So did that fix the issue with connecting to the TV?

Nothing I have tried have worked.

I don't think the problem lies with my PC or TV. The TV is brand new. I have installed Blend on my other computers as well, same result.

I doubt I have a hardware issue on my BlackBerry.

    I appreciate the help.

Unfurtunately, it didn't help. Does Blackberry have a malfunction test for Miracast or the like?

You can try running blackberry virtual expert from blackberry world an see if that detects any malfunction.

Yes, I forgot it came pre-installed with one of the latest software releases. I ran every relevant test, no issues. But nothing specific for Miracast though.

I don't know what more I can do.. kind of a shame, I didn't really get to use it with my TV, and now I can't even access computer files on my phone.

Do you think the two are related? That it was in fact a result of the TV disconnection that sort of went wrong?

    I just did, no difference.

I yes, I can't see why my TV, phone or computer(s) wouldn't meet the requirements. In any case, they worked before, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Ok so it maybe your firewall or anti virus is preventing a connection through to blend. Also hold the volume rocker buttons down to reboot the phone.

I just pushed the volume rocker buttons down for a few seconds, rebooted the phone and now it works! Thank you for the help and actually sticking with me until it worked.

What is the difference between rebooting that way and the traditional way from the power key?

I will test out the TV once I get home. But accessing my PC works now.

The TV still doesn't work, still a blank screen after I establish a connection.

Once the connection is established may have to swipe up from below the screen to wake the screen. It's under System settings - Display to adjust the screen time out, an if you scroll to the bottom select the share screen button.

That is unfortunately not the case.

It is actually possible to Miracast, without sharing the same network? I can access the Share Screen setting from both the WiFi tab but also from within the Display settings. One requires turning on the WiFi, while on the other, I can find my TV without being on WiFi at all.

I am, I do still believe the actual connection isn't done right. Sometimes I get a notification saying the connection is limited.
