    If anything I'm persistent.
I'm trying to get the navigation software "sygic" working.
This is a lengthy post. I apologize for providing a lot of details. But I'm doing something wrong with the placement of the OBB, APK or both. I'm hopeful someone can provide ***** proof instructions for me, please?

    Here is what I tried.
I read in the Q10 forum that you could get the app to work if you downloaded the APK file and the obb file.

    The instruction are to do the following;
    Step one:
    Go to your files app:
    I went device/misc/android/sygic

    Step 2:
Create a new folder called "obb". It goes into the location = device/misc/android > Android > obb

    Step 3:
Create a new folder, the name should be the package name.
I Googled and got the sygic package name. It is com.sygic.aura)

But at this stage I got confused as to where to place this new folder (com.sygic.aura).
    I tried various places.
    a) device/misc/ android/sygic
    b) device/misc/android/sygic/android
    c) device/misc/android/android/obb
    d) device/misc/android/android/obb/com.sygic.aura

    Step 4:
Now you have to place your downloaded obb inside this new folder.

Trying to get the app to work, I copied the file into various location. Each placement failed to get the app running.
    the locations were
    a) device/misc/android/sygic/android
b)device/misc/android/sygic/com.sygic.aura (after this one failed. I added the apk to this folder. It didn't help)
    c) device/misc/android/obb

I just am confused and would appreciate guidance how to get the files straightened out.

Try installing the play store and getting the app that way, rather than piecing it all together. Hope that helps

I tried downloading it using snap, google play and amazon app.
    None of these downloads worked.
That's why I resorted to the obb and apk route.

Did you try with the OBB compatible Play Store? It's only a few days old...

are you referring to the work Cobalt 232 did to allow us to download directly from Google Play? If so, yes I did.
Otherwise, I don't know what you mean by the OBB compatible play store?

    Edit:
I stand corrected, I'm amazed at what Cobalt has now accomplished!

Here is the guide and article for how to get the proper Google Play store to work, took me less than five minutes!

You have to sideload into the rom using a third party sideloader like sachesi.

I just downloaded the sygic navigation using my patched google Play store (com.android.vending.5.1.11-cobalt-buy2.apk) and it works right out of the box. First it downloads a 20 MB file. Then, after your started the app, it will do some tasks in the background and after about 30 seconds it will begin to download the missing obb files automatically.

So there is no need to manually copy any files.

If you insist on doing manual work, you should be aware that the path of the obb files is device/misc/android/Android/obb/com.sygic.aura

As we are dealing with a unix file system, we must respect large and lowcase for file AND foldernames.

Nice app btw, thanks for the tip!

    Yes nice app.
And you did a great job with your playstore download.
I even managed to restore my sygic license from my Samsung note II. Without your playstore fix it always stopped working when it tried to download the 20mb additional files.
I don't understand what he's trying to do but it seems rather complicated for me.

Thanks. Possibly he is using the first release of the Play Store, that did not fully support the obb downloads.

I have a registered version of Sygic on my Android tablet. I installed Sygic on my Passport using Snap. Next I copied the complete Sygic directory from my tablet to the Passport. It still works since over a month with only one issue: it sometimes looses GPS connection which can only be restored (as far as I know) by resetting the device. This normally does not happen on the first trip, but somewhere along the second time you use it without a previous reset.
If anyone has a solution to that specific detail, please let me know.

I can assure you that V2 of Cobalts google work is working splendidly. Now downloading the North American maps. 500+ MB. It took about 4 minutes for the initial install and download of the seconds 20 MB, but it is progressing nicely.

I too now have it working.
I had to delete all the prior folders and start fresh.
This time it worked (I used Google play, thanks to you!)

I went out driving this afternoon and confirmed the app functions well.
I've activated my license, and am presently downloading the maps. I also paid for the heads up navigation.
I'm hopeful having a heads up display mirrored on my windshield will reduce the need for me to look at the phone while I'm driving.
