Spotify works fine on 10.3+. As for a native app, well that hasn't been updated in forever sadly.Spotify on Blackberry Passport-img_20141122_220957.jpgSpotify on Blackberry Passport-img_20141122_220941.jpgSpotify on Blackberry Passport-img_20141122_220658.jpgSpotify on Blackberry Passport-img_20141122_220551.jpg

Works better than I would've imagined. No flaws or hiccups yet. Scales very well too.

Works great, way better than Rdio for me anyway. Only problem I have is that album art doesn't show when music is playing. Someone said that down grading Android runtime will solve this problem. But I don't really care about album art as long as music plays without problems. I'm using leaked OS too, so can't complain.

But the battery does drain very fast when using spotify from snap. I am hoping for some type of native app.

No do not use the snap google version. The google play services (GPS) problem will keep bothering you every time you open it. Use the version from the amazon app store.
Remember Amazon store apps are optimized for the blackberry android runtime.
They will also not have that annoying (GPS)error.

I have used spotify on both android galaxy s5, an Ipad, and on a surface.
It wastes ton of battery on all...
    Regardless of nativity ir not.
Remember that on Blackberry ut is also running over an emulator. Meaning more processing power on top of.

Spotify works, but the hardware keys do not allow you to skip tracks or pause playback. Also, if you use it in the car via Bluetooth, you can not use the vehicle's playback controls.

I loaded from amazon appstore and it looks very native on the passport because it scales really well. I wish it would be able to use the system equalizer settings, but it does have its own eq, so it works.

Im a premium member and have used it both online and offline as well.

Maybe in Q10 works fine, but same with deezer installed from Snap. Physical buttons does not work and car controls either, kinda risky driving and changing songs. Passport has this really bad issue with earphones too, controls does not work with non native apps

You're telling me that music shortcuts (volume rocker track seeking) work in Spotify in 10.3.1?! That's huge!

I use the version off Google Play (Snap) and I'm never prompted on anything to do with Google Play Services. You can use the Amazon version as well but just want to point out that the Snap version works fine.

Overall the app is a bit laggy, but I use it daily and it works well enough.

It worked for me for awhile. But it drained the battery and got hot. One time, it continued to run on the background even after I clearly close the app. I noticed this because I saw a fast battery drain in a matter of a couple of hours.

Since then, I have move on to the Slacker. It is not as good as the Spotify but it is good enough. Also it is available native BB10 version.

Sorry to reanimate this old Post, but I don't feel like opening a new Thread does make any sense, since I'm having the exact same question as the OP.

I'm thinking about getting a Passport and am really addicted to spotify! Right know on my Z10 it works pretty much without any real drawbacks. I would like to get the Passport for the bigger battery and the good specced processor.

But not having volume rockers to skip songs an play pause via the "mute" button or headphones really makes me wondering.

I'd also like to know if the CPU makes spotify an even better experience than on my Z10, performance wise. Hope there's someone who has the possibility to compare the PP to Z/Q/10/30/Classic/Leap.

I use Spotify on both my Z30 and Passport, and the experience is quicker on the Passport. You can mute with the middle button.
