He's complaining that they look identical, but one has a higher amperage than the other. Plugging the wrong phone into the wrong one would not be happy.

I guess you'd feel the same way if we plugged you into a 120V or a 240V outlet.

Nothing would happen to the phones, other than the Passport would charge extremely slowly with the Q5 charger, while the Q5 would charge a little faster with the Passport charger.

As for the chargers, using the Q5 charger for the Passport might cause it to heat up slightly reducing its life, but not exactly causing it to go up in flames and die instantly.

I should also add how ridiculous it is to have to carry around a plug that size for 850mA. Looks like it could handle my clothes washer.

    Long live North American/American standards!

My Passport charger have BlackBerry logo outside, lower amperage charger don't.
    That's how I recognise these I own.

That's assuming you don't want Darwinian natural population control processes to take place.

I still think they're ridiculously over sized. In any case most north American households have circuit breakers and GFCI outlets that serve the same purpose.

I guess the British (and most of Europe) have to deal with living in older, often retrofit construction,.. and for some reason their governments insist on saving their people from themselves... lol
