I have noticed that an annoying buzz has started on my Passport. This sounds is from the built in speaker at the top of the phone; the one that you would be listening to while holding the phone to your ear. I normally use a bluetooth so I am not quite sure when it developed but it is quite annoying more so than detrimental to phone use. I purchased it on launch day last year and do not remember the warranty length; is it one year? Anyone else have this issue? How was it resolved? New Passport?

sounds like a hardware issue. Any way to get a replacement?

That is what I am afraid of. I am not sure how long the factory warranty period is? I may call shop BlackBerry to find out. Hopefully it is one year.

I took the phone apart, dusted and cleaned and reassembled. Tightened the screws just a tad bit extra and still have the buzz. However, I notice that if I pinch the top of the phone around the ear speaker, the buzzing stops so it must be loose still. Will try to lightly tighten some more.

Well, for taking the phone apart, re-assembling and tightening its screws, you surely lost your warranty privilege there...
