So today my 6 year old daughter grabbed my passport and used it for the first time. She is in the process of learning to read and write well and instantly fell in love with the keyboard and predictive typing. Been texting mom and using touch keyboard and it all looks so natural even though she just started. She's becoming quite the little expert thumber!!!

    Love her!

So proud of my little girl!!!-img_20150510_205557.jpg

Aiyaa... much as I love my BlackBerry Passport, I think this one is out of proportion. She should learn to write with her hands instead of gadgets!

Oh she does every day at school and home, but this helps her put sentences and words together she otherwise wouldn't be able to. I don't see harm in it honestly.

Hoo...I see, it's that way, ya...Passport as a learning device to construct sentences, but she still learn how to write by hands. That's good, then. You had me worried, there.

Yup. Technology is all around us and our kids are (for good or bad) exposed to it from very early on. My little ones know android (mom's phone) in and out. It was amazing to see her grabbing my BlackBerry and just instinctively using the OS. Only issue which I had to show her once was swiping up out of a particular application. Caught on right away.

Holding the Passport like a pro there haha.

This is great for her, the passport can be very useful to learn new words as well.

I envision the day when pencils will be obsolete and writing will be done by speaking.

Do you have access to an Android phone and an iPhone as well?

Hand her a different device every 3 days and make sure apps are equal across them. I'm curious which one she would settle on. Kids are honest.

She actually uses an android phone and a tablet as well as a laptop windows machine for math and language games. That's a great idea though. I will test it out over the next few days!

Niiiice. I know how you feel, OP. I think I'll start teaching my dear nieces to type / work on my Z10 instead of just playing games. Why didn't I think of this before?!

Oh Red Passport, soon we shall be together. I can't wait...
