It is...?
Is it Snap 2.0.0.2 you use? I run 3.2

I'm using 3.0.0.5, and I'm not having any issues with downloading or updating apps.
Just got my Passport and I installed Snap (latest version) and all of the (Android) apps are not responding. I was able to open some but they freeze seconds after I open them. Any solutions?
How did you put Google services in your bb passport?
Instagram and Drudge have been acting up lately. Pandora and Rush's apps worked fine yesterday when I used them. IG has been the main problem.

What's the main difference between Snap and Colbolts playstore?
Sent from my not quite obsolete BlackBerry 10 Passport almost running 10.3.3.
nice name!
i'll say this:
snap was simple and got the job done. then it quit working for a random percentage of users, myself included. support has been atrocious. side loading sucks.
play store is annoying and keeps respawning in the background along with a host of related apps. I used to it to download some apps, then I deleted it. I guess if theres another app I want, i'll install it again, temporarily.
amazon is pure garbage.

Android apps do not run in the background on BB10.
well what do you call it when an app runs headless, not even visible by device monitor, but can be viewed and killed by task manager, only to respawn immediately, or at a later, seemingly random time?

When an app is closed, the Android Runtime freezes it. When you run a task manager, the Runtime re-activates the frozen services and you will see them all. The moment you turn off the task manager, they freeze again. As Cobalt describes it, it's like a light in the fridge - it only goes on when you open the door.
Only native apps can be run headless.
sorry, but i'm not buying it. often the apps are visible in device monitor, and there you can view associated cpu usage and mobile data usage. the apps are running, and doing something!!!
