Is there a way to display in 16:9 aspect ratio? Or it's strictly the 1:1

When I use the slimport it changes ratio to 16:9 automatically.

Mirroring the phone screen will be 1:1. You can use the Play On feature to get videos 16:9.

In reading the description of the Slimport brand devices, its indicated that it doesn't have universal compatibility. For anyone who has tested showing a presentation, which brand did you buy?
Model #1004. That's the one SBB sells.

Anyone know of a slime port adapter for a passport that also clones the USB functions of the phone port.

So far I only see options to charge.

In other words, is there any way to retain use of the USB function while exporting video as well??

You mean the PTV3000? I want to get one and was hoping for some legit feedback other than YouTube.
Any feedback would be appreciated :-)

This is not possible due to Slimport. The 3 pins are already in use for displaying.

Does anyone know something about this adapter? The desciption says Blackberry Passport is supported. I want a solution for VGA and HDMI.

It's pretty good really, there is a slight lag but it's great for playing movies from your phone.
If it's left inactive for a while you need to reboot it for the passport to see it again and sometimes passport needs a reboot.
Also if you use the 'play to ' feature of bb10 you can carry on using the phone as normal.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you for the feedback. Just one clarification, if I play a movie and it's left inactive for an hour while watching, will either one then need a reboot or are you referring to no use at all but conected?

I will have to try it out at some point, but it seems that once it's disconnected( this normally happens for me when the movie has finished) the netgear thing needs a reboot to reconnect. This is not too much hassle as it's powered from the tv usb, so just flick the tv off and on.

I would guess the passport reboot thing would happen with any miracast, and just seems a bit random and not very often

Just found as for the ChromeCast Dongl you can have some issues using it when abroad over internationally.
The Chromecast has Google DNS built-in, and no way to change its DNS servers and casting a tab with Netflix playing thanks to Hola Unblocker wont work, since Silverlight audio doesnt work with Chromes tab casting. Thus, unless you have a router that lets you setup a VPN in the router, theres no way to get Netflix to play in the Chromecast abroad.
