Nope. The leaked pics aren't accurate. The actual Silver Edition has a stainless steel frame. The pics look like plastic.

Don't all device manufacturers do this? Release a device and then release a newer, updated version of it at a later date? The original Passport was put on sale in September of 2014. Apple is coming out with the iPhone 6S, as they did with the 5S, 4S, etc... The Samsung Galaxy line is moving onto version 6. I expect and want newer versions of devices to be released- especially BlackBerry devices.

At least the new design will be better to handle twisting and lifting if you are right about the material. Should be more ergonomic to handle as well. Blackberry do listen to complains if that's the case. Good to know.

Yeah, if those are metal frets connecting the edges of the casing, this phone should do much better with twisting.

Pretty sure that's not the case, the frets are part of the keyboard assembly. Even if they were part of the frame, they're so thin they'd likely add zero structural support to the phone.
