Picked up the SE today, found it to be slightly thicker and heavier than the OG. Maybe it's because of the camera? Either way a bit surprised... would have thought an upgrade becomes leaner and lighter...

Bigger chin, innit?

What about the stainless steel parts? Steel is heavier than plastics, I think ;)

Does "OG" mean the original square-shaped Passport? To me, that phone seems kinda light and thin. Leaner and lighter is not my style. I prefer thicker and heavier! ;)
Yes, it comes with a few ounces more and feels a bit bigger. But still great to handle :-)

It's silver, not mithril. That'll add a few grams.
I could care less if a phone is thinner. To me, a thinner phone is harder to hold.
Even though the Passport is quite a bit heavier, I don't really notice the weight difference compared to my Z30.
The SE is awesome! So is the OG. Doesn't matter if one is thicker or not. Love em' both. Best form factor.

Put it in a tougher case and you'll have a brick in your pocket...

Already have one in me pocket

They're the exact same thickness.

Both are 9.3mm thin.

Its not actially thicker it just feels that way. Wait til you get a case on it, will feel like having a sandwich in your pcket.
Tapered sides of the OG with the slight curve make it seem like it's thinner; simply a well-designed optical illusion.
Flat sides of AT&T and SE make them easier to hold, but also make them appear thicker. They're all the same thickness.
I also noticed that the protruding camera on the SE makes it rise slightly higher than the OG on a flat surface...

Yes they've bettered the quality. The extra ounces add to the build quality, appeal and gripping. The keyboard is the greatest update and makes you type for ages. The chin assists in doing so.
So I don't see that's a downgrade but an update.
