That is my question. Are the cosmetic differences the only differences between it and a regular Passport? Are there any hardware or software upgrades in it? In essence, is it worth the extra 50 bucks?

Already answered you...
Here are some other perceptions on the difference http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...ilver-1036831/
I have had both and although both are beautiful I prefer the SE, it seems better made and just looks more premium IMHO!!!!! I would spend the extra 50, but to answer your question I think the design is the only difference.

The keyboard space on the bottom seems to be more broad compared to the original black edition... I got the original cause it was the last piece left in my country & I like my blackberry well, black! Lol

High hoe silver!

I purchased a second black original. Love the feel of the back and edges of glass better. Plus black just looks classy imo.

I had a silver edition and it looked like a big block of cold metal. Ordered the og and man It looks like a true blooded blackberry

I'm hoping to get a second BB10 device from work. I already have my own black Passport, but they won't let me BMYD. A second, new Silver Passport would be just the ticket.
I have had both. To me the SE is better for use and the metal frame wraps around the LTD panel for more support and much less flex potential. And it looks great.

I bought an SE from techtrum on amazon.com and got a shipment notification that it was on its way. Then a day later they refunded me my money because they were out of stock. Biggest case of blue balls ever

From Limited Edition Red to SE...sooo nice

The design looks to be the only difference for me. I use the black passport but I prefer the SE. Love the round edges and the colour combo. The aesthetics beat that of the black.
The SE is a classy looking device. More ergonomic than the regular one as well IMO (unless we're talking about the AT&T version). The regular one is damn good looking and built like a tank as well, can't go wrong with that either.
The Silver Edition I actually find to be larger to hold and not as grippy as the original black version.

Under the hood. Does the hardware change or are the silver and black Passports the same?

All the internal specifications are the same.

SE is great, got one right here. Hope to keep it for another couple years. Keyboard feel is sublime. Extra "chin" is handy. The silver design has a bit of a retro feel to it.
I chose the original black version over the Silver Edition. Reasons: lighter, sleeker, smaller, aesthetically more pleasing, better OEM cases.

Pre SE I deliberated over black or white? I loved my white Z10 but this time black edged it. Think the Black Square passport looks that bit better than the SE but if poss I would go Red!!
Swiped on my Passport!
Play around with one if you can, if you like the look and feel for it, why not?
What are your alternatives?

Silver edition is has a premium look....i'd go for it

Retro is the word to describe SE. The black looks like a state of the art design. So similar yet so damn different .

Thanks everyone for the replies. From the sounds of it, I just need to pick the one I think looks better.
