A while back I bought a Passport in white (same construction as the black)

absolutely loved it, got that same feeling I had with my 8800 and 9790.

But was it too wide, possibly, did it feel fragile, hell yes, was I scared of twisting it lengthways, oh boy I was.

So it went and was replaced with a Nexus 6 aka "the tank", decent enough but no real improvement in speed over the Nexus 5 I had before the passport because of enforced encryption Google forced on it and a very late stage just before release.
So a month ago I switched to a shiny new Nexus 5x, decent enough, but no love felt for it.

    Phones I've loved

    Sony K800i Cybershot
    BB 8800
    T-Mobile G1
    Bold 9790
iPhone 4s before apple ruined with a new iOS
    Nexus 5
    BB Passport.

so how much tougher is the silver edition compared to the Black/white/red ones?

    These pics suggest massively

It's a strange question to quantify? I have only had a BBPPSE and I guess the only way to make the comparison is to put both through a series of exact destruction tests?

I will say the device feels really solid and weighty? And I have a seidio case and it has been dropped a few time from about 3ft and no issues

Have the PP SE. Torsional rigidity is massive. The stainless steel frame seems to be milled from the Singularity itself. Like a 4S gone through boot camp. It's a tank.

Silver edition, how much tougher-imag0179.jpg. It's not too tough on its chin!

HTC Diamond, HTC Touch Pro 2, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2, Blackberry Playbook, Blackberry Z10, HTC One M7, HTC One M8, BlackBerry Passport, Blackberry Passport SE & Blackberry Priv (regrettably)

Were you able to find a replacement chin? The phone is a tank but the chin is very weak. I need one as well, cant find it anywhere.

The "chin" is terrible since it's all plastic.
But I wouldn't be surprised if the Passport Silver Edition is more resistant to bending and twisting than the original.

However, based on my own usage, I was not worried about this being an issue so I got an original passport.

Well if the chin is plastic, then it can't be as tough on drops as the original which has continuous metal corner to corner.

The whole chin and frets on SE are plastic. I have both, seem equally tough, except the OG is more susceptible to bending in a twisting way if handled improperly.

Since we know the chin and frets are plastic, I find it a little odd that BlackBerry would have an SE promo shot of the picture showing the frame skeleton with the the chin and frets included.
