my employer is switching from WhatsApp to Signal Messenger.
I cannot download Signal from the AppStore, tried an older APK but no luck.
Is there a solution for this problem or is this finally the end for this phenomenal phone?

Just do not make any update if Signal asks for it. It won' t be installed. Just go with the apk file. You can find alo the apk file from the signal website here : " https://signal.org/android/apk/ "

Correct. And be aware that using an older version of the client is really only a short-term solution to the problem, as eventually the older versions of the client will be blocked at the server side, and you'll be asked to upgrade - and because BB10 is limited to Android 4.3, when that day comes, Signal won't work anymore. That could happen on any given day without warning, so make sure you have a backup plan in place.
