So I have a Q10 and a Z30 running on .1151, both on Verizon and decided to get a Passport to replace my work 9900 (AT&T). The Passport will be a BYOD.

I have lost track of what is on 10.3.0.xxxx vs 10.3.1.xxxx. I want all the new Hub features, two finger swipe for settings, AmazonApp and 'Blend'. I checked the forums and it looks like Blend doesn't work on 1151 / 1154 on the Passport. I also know there are some workarounds but am reluctant to make that plunge. I have been using the autoloader upgrade method without a hitch for two years.

Bottom line I am meeting the new CIO in 10 days and want to show off the Passport and try and get the company to move back to BB ( I am only one of about 30 still on 9900, others have gone to iPhone and Windows Phone and they want to shut down the BES (old) server)

Thoughts, should I stick with the OS that comes (tomorrow) with the Passport or load 1154?. I may not have the luxury of being able to load leaks once they set me up with my corporate email.

Thanks in advance for your input.

For 1151 and 1154, I had screen flickering problem here and there. That could be a turn-off for your CIO. I would suggest you stay at 10.3.0.1418 if you are going to give an extensive demonstration.

If you carefully choose the features and apps to show off, and rehearse it before hand to make sure there is no surprises, then I recommend 1154 and back blend74.bar back to the version came from 1408... it works that way.

mines been great so far , no issues that others have shown, very quick start times and great overall performance, always a risk with a leak.

Microsoft OneNote is the key. Do you need or want OneNote? If so, you need to go with 10.3.1.x (I would go 1154). If you don't need OneNote or other Android apps which need the latest runtime, stay with the original OS. For me, there is not much difference between 10.3.0 and 10.3.1.

The screen flickering is fixed by disabling Battery Saving Mode.

10.3.1 has removed the USB autodetect override (in Settings, Storage and Access). Without being able to force USB to Windows, USB connections to my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 will not work. That is a downside of using 10.3.1.

So, on balance, stay with the delivered OS unless you need advanced Android capabilities.
I would beg to differ on "The screen flickering is fixed by disabling Battery Saving Mode." I have tried that on my Passport and I still get the occasional flickering, especially when going into my camera app while I have another app open. If it was me, I think I would stick to the official O.S. unless you carefully rehearse your demo beforehand.

Since you can start clean I suggest 10.3.1.1151 or 54. I am running 51 smoothly on my Passport. Different color LED notification helps when you have two business emails and three personal plus BBM and texts. The 3.1 has some other advantages over 3.0.

I commend you so much for this, and love that you will try to convince the CIO to move back to Blackberry!

As you are showing off the Passport, don't forget to mention BB's recent acquisition of German security company Secusmart as well as BES 12 (which I bet you were already on task to mentioning).

    Good luck and cheers!

Thanks. Did you load the bar file from the official release to get Blend to work?
