Hi guys . what do you think of buying a bb passport now? actually the main reason that i wanna buy a BB is because its not android or IOS,,, i just wanna experience something different and I DON'T use any social media! ( dont judge , im not 100yrs!)
i just want to have a unique phone(not android or ios) BUT my use my phone mostly for music , AND i draw pictures with my phone so i need a wide and high quality screen ! is passport OK for me?(cuz passport's screen is like a square)
and finally how long do you think bb supports bb OS?

Passport is great at the right price if you don't need all the Apps that ios or Android has. Bb10 and Passport is great for music. Good speakers and even has an FM radio (requires headphones). Don't know about drawing with a phone though.

Not sure how long BB10 will be supported, but for now, it works just fine for me.

I had a hiccup with the att version I bought but bow that it's fixed I can't believe I didn't buy one years ago. Best phone ever so far.

If you are being completely honest that you don't rely on some of the apps that you can easily access with iOS and Android, the Passport will probably beat your expectations.

Having said that, while BlackBerry OS is great right out of the box and there are some options for drawing apps in BlackBerry World (the BlackBerry native 'app store'), you won't find nearly the same options you would in the comparable app store for Apple or Google Play. You will probably need to use some Android apps for what you want to do.

One other thing to consider, old Samsung Note tablets can be found pretty cheap and they have a precision stylus included (probably a lot better suited for drawing).

If you are buying the Passport to use primarily as a communications device (phone calls, texts, emails, and other messaging) and on a unique OS, you will probably be more than satisfied with it. If you are wanting it as primarily a tablet to draw with, there might be better options for you.

Buy it. I am the same as you. If you want a device that stands out from the sea of sheep that buy iphones then buy the passport. It is hands down the best phone over ever owned. I want to add a red one to my collection. Buy the phone bud!!

Disclaimer: don't expect the latest and greatest. Don't EXPECT android apps to work. A lot do, but it some don't. If you have apps that you use currently and aren't going to be dual wielding phones, make sure that they work on BB10 before making the jump.

Other than that the Passport is an AWESOME phone. Battery life is great. Screen is huge. Keyboard is awesome.

I'm try to find a red passport on kijiji no luck. On ebay they are hard to find too. They have some on amazon but the price is like 600 bux which is ridiculous

you wont find a silver edition for a reasonable price...but plenty of OG black ones. be sure to test your sim in it, make sure the speakers all work and that blackberry protect is disabled.

It's not really *that* ridiculous. It was actually a very limited edition and I would think that there aren't many of them kicking around. Basic supply and demand. eBay or the CB Marketplace are probably your best bet.

It's worth it in my opinion! BlackBerry Passport is a solid device and there's an app called Sketchbook 2.0 by Little Boat Studios that is very good, it does cost $3.99 though.

The white and the red seem to be like mythical creatures. When they show up they are expensive. It's crazy how cheap you can snag an OG black or even an SE. White and Red are the crazy expensive ones.

I bought a red one on Kijiji about three weeks back and it is now proudly displayed in my display case.

But honestly ...if you're good with not receiving any further OS updates, and you don't use a lot of apps the Passport is a great device, but in 2017 it's hard for me to recommend it to someone.

Yeah my SE was $200 CAD in the Spring on eBay. But I had to shell out for a QWERTY keyboard to replace the original QWERTZ. Not bad though.
