By day's end on 10.3.1 I was at at least 50% battery. Now it hits battery saving mode after 10 hours. I do not leave any apps open, have deleted all non-used Android apps and ensured all ones installed are set to not run in the background.

My device shows 31% of my battery is the display, 14% system and 14% browser. Why would 10.3.2 use more battery for display than 10.3.1?

Post your battery usage for the last 12 or 24 hours? Found in device monitor.

    > Try to check & update apps, if any updates are available.

    > Wait for atleast 3 to 4 days or maybe a week, as upon new OS update, it takes few days to normalize behavior of the device. I believe not just battery, few more unusual OS / App behavior may pop-up during initial week.

    > Use few battery saving tactics like;
    - Keeping screen brightness low
    - Keeping Location off when not in use
    - Keep screen-rotation off when not required
    - Don't keep your phone in low network area/space

I've had the update for over 3 weeks now. My battery usage is 10% used in only 1 hour. I checked the device monitor and the most used battery since last charge is 4% display and 3% system so very little to use up 10%.

Battery in 1.5 hours since charge is now 84%. Display only shows 4% and my settings for brightness are only around 60% on the bar. My CPU usage is over 50% since charge but there's no way to see what used so much. Back of device is pretty warm and all I've done is browsing.

In device monitor, press "CPU," and it will tell you what is using the CPU over different selectable timeframes. 50% is way off.

The high CPU usage is System which explains nothing. Why won't it detail what specifically is using so much CPU?

I'm having a similar issue. I'm new to BB10, I haven't had a BlackBerry since 2008 but my new PP silver edition seems to lose too much power even on standby... I do run some android apps but the usage monitor doesn't show so much drain from there.

You just got your PP and you set the accounts up recently? Then it's going to need time to finish indexing everything. This is normal on BB10.

Do an OS reload. Just plug your phone to the pc and use BlackBerry link to reload your os. A little hassle, but should solve your problem. If problem persist, claim for warranty. Good luck!

In SQL's case, I'd reload the device to factory, perform an official upgrade of the OS and see how it does over a few days. Also, don't install odd weird apps just yet...

Thanks for the tips! I kinda need the weird apps tho- also will an OS reload remove all my data? If it does can I restore from a backup or does that restore the battery issue too?

The battery drains happens to everybody during the first 3days to a week and a half of booting up your device and adding all your accounts to it. Don't worry, just give it time. You'll soon be back to two day battery life.

It's better not to restore. Since the culprit could be a corrupt back up. For the contact you can use cloud or you can use ultimate backup apps for restoring almost everything. If you use cloud to restore, don't hurry, let it download fully before installing anything else. As for the apps you can re install one by one again. I found that it is normal for the phone to heat up a bit and drain your battery right after installing apps, especially android apps. It should be gone after restart though.

    2 day battery life?
Be prepared not to use the phone if you want that.
10.3.2 seems to be a battery hog in general.
Idle, it's great...from the moment you start to really use the device, it's bad

You must be already on 10.3.1, I guess. Now, 10.3.2 is rolling-out, though bit slowly per country per service-provider. You should get it soon, if still you haven't got it.

I believe, few Android apps do consume extra battery, but I am not too sure. Try disabling few things like GPS, auto-screen-rotation and don;t keep phone in low network area. Also, reduce screen brightness if you can.

I'm experiencing the same problem too. Ever since I had updated with 10.3.2, my Passport's battery drains too quickly, like if I open the mobile date, boom! 10-15% is gone just by browsing for a few minutes, even in wifi. Before the update, I can leave my phone with its mobile data on for half a day and it would only cost 20-30% of its battery power. I could leave my phone connected to wifi overnight and drain only 5-10% of its power. I often charge the phone by the end of the day before. But now, I have to charge it in the morning, then in the afternoon if I use the mobile data.
