I have a friend wanting to buy my PP as soon as I can get a KeyOne. What should I do with respect to deleting all my personal "stuff" on the PP. Will miss this phone it has been the best phone ever. Just see the writing on the wall re BB10.

Disable BlackBerry Protect and then wipe it as per normal.

Have you installed the most recent OS using an autoloader? If you are paranoid, this obliterates everything. Might be overkill but others can chime in.

I've just bought a Passport, and I watched the previous owner to confirm that Protect was disabled. He then started a secure wipe (no SD card in the slot), and it took hours and hours. Finally, it got stuck at 94% after many many many hours. I tried the Link instructions, but as a new owner, I do not have any linked devices as yet as this is my first BB. It's now warning me that I can't refresh for 5 minutes. How do I proceed?

You need to download and install an autoloader using your PC. Get the correct autoloader from here: http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...rchive-943672/ then unzip it to your PC desktop and run the autoloader .exe file with your device plugged into your PC. It will take about 15 minutes or so and is very easy to do. You can then proceed with the setup, create your BBID, setup accounts etc. Good luck!

This worked. Does OTA updates work, or is there any need to reload the OS using Link now that I've managed to get it running using this method? Or is 10.3.3.2286 the latest OS and therefore no need to do anything?

Good to hear. You now have the latest OS (and quite possibly the LAST OS) so you don't have to do anything else. If, by some miracle, there is ever another update, it would come OTA or you could install it the same way you did .2286.

OOPs just realized that you probably have 10.3.2.2286 and NOT 10.3.3.2205 which is the latest. You could check for updates manually through Software Updates under Settings or go back to Thurask's archives and get 10.3.3.2205. If you stay with 10.3.2.2286 you are going to have to get the Android Runtime updated from Blackberry World. To do that you have to navigate here with your Passport browser: https://community.blackberry.com/thread/17096

After over a year on Priv, I a back on Passport waiting for USB replacement... I will never sell this unique device even if it becomes a fancy wifi thingy...that said, I have a proprietary SIP client on it so I i can make wifi cals anywhere there's wifi... it's a real joy to hold and use...

Sorry that was my bad - I used Passport_10.3.03.2205_SQW100-1-2-3-4.7z to reflash the device, which worked a treat. I will now try to get modern Android and GPS running on the Passport before doing Device Switch and moving my accounts across. I am heavily invested in the Google walled garden, so I am gonna need some level of modern Android compatibility.

Sorry to tell you this, but if that's the case, you are in for a world of hurt. Some will work well and others not at all. Also, the more android apps that you put on this device, even if compatible, the slower your Passport will be. Remember this is a Runtime of 4.3 and will never be updated.

I too have 1435/2163 on OG Passport. What version gets 1463/2205? Is it outside the US, another language than English, or carrier branded?

There are 4 versions of 10.3.3 and the lowest version (.746) is a developer version. All will work on any Passport regardless where you are or what language (no, not you Lithuanians, sorry!) you are using. The reason for variants is probably carrier related, but it is not clear. https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...nhDQjFJUE10X2M
