I'm considering of selling my Passport for a Z30 and get either a decent Android phone or a Nexus 6P to solve the app gap. I'm selling the Passport because I now realized that I typed faster on a VKB, and the PKB of the Passport annoys my wife at night when I'm replying emails in bed. I'm aslo having a problem looking for cheap car mount for navigation. We travel a lot and being able to mount the phone as a nav device is a must.

Do you think this is a good idea? Is a Z30 still a great device today, almost 2016?

I don't have the extra $200 for it. With a Z30, I can get it for under $200 used and then get the Nexus 5x instead of the 6P for $300 something and I will have the best of both worlds with the advantage of an extra device as a backup. Plus, right now, I don't think it's practical to get the Priv with all the complaints and stuff with the device getting hot and battery not lasting as it should.

My passport runs all the android apps I want thanks to cobalts efforts
Most importand apps are for me:

Verisure
Nest
Google maps
Netflix and chromecast
Google photos all my fotos taken with my passport are in the cloud
Wunderlist


So why buying an android phone

Just get the nexus 6p and everything will be fine if apps is your first priority... nexus is more like an all rounder, good for you! There are quite a few apps passport can't run smoothly, but i updated my os today and i noticed android apps are running smoother, however, still a big gap from original android.

Oh and forgot about z30, too old doesn't worth it.

Wow! Not very smart. I run most android apps from Cobalts google playstore.
