That sucks... It seems that a lot of Passports (or BlackBerry?) have problems with long security wipes.

Just reboot your device, if it's not done it will pick up from where it left.

You sure that won't brick the device...?

Run SIC multiwipe, then install latest autoloader.

Would that work? Running SIC wipe then autoloader on 10.3.2. Xxxx OS? I got the SE passport from Amazon but have been having troubles with it so I think I'm sending it back for a replacement. How do I remove my BBID from the device before sending it back? On 10.3.1 is was a breeze but I'm a little nervous on 10.3.2 OS. Does anyone know the exact steps to take for this? I've been reading people have been have troubles doing this so I don't want to follow in the same wrong direction. Thanks

The fastest way for normal security wipe, is first to un-install the apps that you have installed. Having less apps to ponder on gives a fast Security wipe.

Yes it would AFAIK. Others have tried it for the same reason (phone stuck on security wipe for days) and it worked like a charm. Phone gets wiped in minutes and an autoloader with the latest OS gives you a fresh start.

If you're going to return for a replacement you'd want to delete it from your list of BlackBerry Protect devices. To do this you go to protect.blackberry.com, log in with your BlackBerry ID. Click the "manage devices" link above the picture of your phone, then once it is selected click "remove". It is now no longer connected to your BlackBerry ID

Just run an autoloader. It does the same thing and takes just a few minutes.

Try to do a bit of Search on Crackberry and you'll definitely find links to auto loaders.

Thanks everyone for jumping in. Does it matter which order I do this. Autoloader first, then go to Blackberry's website to remove the device or should I do the reverse order? Also, should I shut off BlackBerry Protect on the phone first then do the other 2 procedures next in the order you recommend?

I'm really bummed that I have to most likely return the device. I never like the Passport and after using the Silver Passport, I have greatly come to appreciate this device as the keyboard is so much nicer to type on compared to my OG Passport and the awesome look and premium feel has changed my view on the Passport.

The main things that concern me about my Passport is the back light for the Keyboard has stopped working 5 times in two weeks and needs a reboot to get it working again. I've never had this happen on any of my other devices except for my OG Passport with one OS I loaded. So I loaded a different one on it and it never happened again. So it my be software related for my silver passport on the latest leak OS, but I don't see anyone else complaining about this. The other issue is the missing phone calls and going straight to voicemail. I switched simcard's yesterday and that seemed to fix the problem, but I will see in the next couple of days, as it maybe wishful thinking.
Thanks again everyone for your help.

As long as you remember your BBID, you don't need to worry about BlackBerry Protect. The autoloader is all you need.

If it still doesn't work after you test it after a clean install, then you can disable BlackBerry Protect and run a security wipe. It will be quick.

Hi Conite, but won't this ask me for my BBID when it opens up from a fresh install? I just want it to be a clean install and start fresh to be able to create a new BBID for anyone else to use it once it gets returned back to Amazon in case it is actually fine or if I do keep it to give to my wife.

    Thanks again for your help

    I see.

Then disable BlackBerry Protect on your device first.

2 days are okay... more, depending on how much memory was occupied. Be patient, as long as you see a progress even if they are 2% in a while, it is a proof that it is not stuck

1 hour or maybe I can accept 2 hours, but anything beyond that is crazy. That is why I just use an auto loader with no wiping and haven't had any problem with any of my devices, except for this new Silver Passport, but I don't believe it was from the installation process.
