My screen doesn't turn off when I put the phone to my head. Leads to all sorts of issues with calls getting muted, hung up on, etc. Anywhere to adjust this setting??

Have you tried restarting the phone? Seems like something is going on with your proximity sensor.

Which version are you running. I had this problem with one of the official releases too. But with all the 10.3.1 versions it seems to be gone...

If you are on an official OS call your carrier or reseller for a replacement / repair.

OP do a hard reboot ie hold up and down volume together till you see the BlackBerry logo then let go and let it boot up as normal.

I had this issue a few weeks back but did a hard reset and so far the issue hasn't occurred again.

Tried doing a hard reset as per your suggestion, but the issue persists. Would it make any kind of difference that I typically use my phone on my left side? Is the phone right-side friendly only? The number of times I've put a call on hold and found myself calling someone else without ever having touched the screen is unreal

It can actually show ok even though you experience the issue as described:

BBVE will retrieve some values from the sensor but for some reason BBVE and the phone app uses different ranges, so the phone app may fail to turn off the screen while BBVE can show ok.

I had some device logs analyzed by BlackBerry and they are considering changing BBVE to match the phone app.

My Classic has the same issue. It sometimes turns off the screen when I move it close to my ear; however, it doesn't work most of times.

Screen protectors have a nasty habit of causing this. I now only use protectors that have cutouts for the screen sensors.

Actually I haven't removed the original film that has a hole where the proximity sensor is.
