I've turned off things I don't use like BBM, FB etc in Parental Controls and this seems to disable the app. As a consequence my battery life has jumped enormously...like an extra 4 hours in the device monitor. Sweet!

I know, that some replies would say "what's the point of carrying a phone if in airplane mode" but believe me or not, you can extend the battery life to the double by managing manually the radios....
For example, if you do not use your phone to work with by making calls or answering e-mails, even if on, let it in airplane mode. If you know you need the phone to make calls and may be text messages, leave the data off. When you end your 3-4 hours of work and make a pause, then reactivate the data, let it collect the incoming e-mails, What'sApp messages, social-media notifications then turn the whole off again.
Okay. Now to the reality... I use my passport for work and my Q10 in my free time. So when I work my Q10 is charging and vice versa... Battery power is always 40-90% when I grasp my phone.
But give my suggestion a try.
    Cheers!

I use my phone for business so I leave the stuff I need turned on. That does not include things like BBM and 90% of the the things you can turn off in parental controls.

If you are working in an office environment and have your own PC, just plug your Passport using USB cable to your PC - it will charge. Not as fast as conventional charger but after your working time, your mobile can withstand another travel and traffic time...
