Just got the Blackberry Cradle as a nightime charger to use Passport as a bedside clock. I swap between the Passport and Classic as my daily driver and was intending to leave the unused phone as a bedside Clock for several days sitting in the cradle.

Is this OK or not recommended? Is the Battery intelligent to stop charging when full or will it maintain a charge and shorten the lifespan?

    Thx in advance!

Yes, it's a smart battery and will not charge once the charge reaches full.

See....another nice option on the Passport!

    Thanks GeoK!

Do you know if the same applies to the Classic or just the Passport?

All the new devices use a smart battery, turning only into a trickle charge when needed. Safe for Classic also.
