I been a fan from year's past and now on LG G2 and considering purchasing the new BB Passport Silver. From everything I've read, it seems to be a great phone for work. My concern is connecting the phone to work emails. Does it HAVE to be on an Enterprise Edition again? I remember before with Sprint, they (the cell company) charged extra for this service. This would be a deal breaker! I work for the City of Miami, so I would hope more and more business minded professional would jump back on board.
    Any thoughts!!!

I normally don't post (EVER), so I don't know how I might see any responses posted.

What type of email does your work use?

No special BlackBerry data plan is required for the Passport, but some conteinarized solutions like Good require workarounds.

I know what you mean. When I had a BlackBerry Storm running 5 OS, the mail servers I connected to required going through BES, which Verizon charged me another $25/mo for.

I can't say for sure that you won't find yourself in that position again, but I haven't. I connect to two Exchange servers at two different universities plus iCloud and Gmail accounts, all using a basic AT&T data plan. That's email, calendar, contacts, tasks and notes with no extra connectivity required.

Your mileage may vary, of course, but I hope not. Good luck.

Not really sure, but I will ask. We have standard Microsoft Office Enterprise Servers, if that helps.

I was just told by my IT folks and they state that BB now is with Active Sync, and no need for Enterprise Edition.

We are on Exchange Server and I don't need anything special. Just select exchange server upon setup.

You will love the SE. Hands down, the best phone there is. Period. Nothing comes close, and I've had them all. ALL!!! You will love it!!!!

    Good Luck and Enjoy

Yeah, it should work. You just need to add the account within the setup menu on the device (so you'll need the info from the IT folks).

I'm using a first edition Passport on my work Outlook account. I can verify that active sync is functional. Calendar works fine, all of my other email accounts/calendars (7) work fine as well.

Passport. It will take you places.

Yeap, I've used both my Q10 and PP SE at work on Active Sync without issue. Even works with Citrix Worx Home which the company recently switched to.

The only possible issue would be policy based. Make sure your IT department is willing to hook up a BlackBerry 10 OS device to their network.

I would hope that they (our IT dept) sees the Passport SE as a better security risk if any.

From what I've read, none what so ever. One thing though. You won't have WFC on the Passport.

Yep, that sounds about right. EAS is working flawlessly with my work e-mail and private e-mail as well (Office 365 exchange)

Enjoy your Passport! And be warned: life is going to get awfully productive soon...

I'm set up using exchange activesync. Works perfectly just as on android. Our work is server 2010 I believe. Came from a Note 4 and loving it so far.
